Offensive coordinator search thread

If the SEC wouldn't let mighty Alabama and Saban hire Freeze, why in the blue hail do you think they would allow UT? My God some of you are drunk on a Monday morning!

Chaney has a plethora of 5 star QB’s and RB’s. What incentive does he have to come here with JG and 3 star players across the starting 11?
Maybe you need to reread my post..... I said gauge his interest. He may have none, but you'll never know if ya don't try.

Somebody mentioning Weinke is probably on the right track too. Promoting from within would be pretty underwhelming to the fan base though.

You know Pruitt isn't going to hire anyone who isn't Pro Style, which I think eliminates Kingsbury, though I don't think he'd come anyway. Hugh Freeze is the first place I'd go. Yeah, he had his issues, but he wouldn't be the head guy and you know Pruitt is going to keep a sharp eye on him.

I'd say be prepared to be disappointed. That seems like a common theme for Vol fans. Had Butch hired Mark Helfrich like everyone hoped, the 2016 season could have been very special, and Butch would probably still be here and actually successful despite his flaws. Coordinators are huge hires, so I hope this doesn't eventually end CJP's tenure here.

There should already be tickets waiting on Freeze and Kingsbury at the airport to fly in and interview. To not even bring them in and offer would be stupid because other teams will and I certainly don't want those other teams to be in the SEC.

You bring in Freeze and hope he stays 2 seasons and develops Weinke to take over as OC when Freeze leaves for another HC job.
