A team that respects their coach doesn't quit on them. This team had a lot to play for against Kentucky, and a few of the seniors have come out and stated they didn't want to be there. In their assessment, the team as a whole didn't want to be there. Players that respect each other do not quit on each other, period.

Poole is an example of a player who regressed this year. Our entire offensive line regressed this year. I will agree with you about the defense, some of them, especially on the line seemed to improve.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion as well...I just don't think you are very bright in this area. It is funny how many of you have responded just as I said you would. If you and a few others were half as intelligent and knowledgeable as you want others to believe, then you would respond with much less sarcasm and jabs, and start providing valid discussion points.

Maybe not, but I am certain I know at least as much as you.

Where did I not respond with valid discussion points? You tried to act as though your walk-on status gave you some special insight. I responded by giving you my insight as a scholarship athlete/letterman and being around the AD and other players. I asked how you could regress in talent and you respond with nothing, because it was unbelievably IGNORANT to say talent regressed. Talent really can't regress until you get older. Yeah, some get slower from year to year, but usually at the same time they are getting bigger and stronger. Poole's PRODUCTION slid off, but his talent is at least the same as it was last year as with anyone. He's just not a stud tailback.

We've seen teams quit from time to time for years. It's not necessarily indicative of guys not respecting the coach. It's indicative of character.

If you're going to make strong criticisms, be prepared to support those claims with some compelling support. You don't have it. In the end, you're the one that thought you were providing more intelligent analysis because of your jock sniffing walk on days at UT. Hit a nerve with the comment on Fulmer huh? LOL...but it's the truth, unfortunately

No issues with the Fulmer comment...he needed to go 3-4 years before they fired him.

Being a team member on a college football team does give me more insight than most to understand the dynamics in the locker room and how important it is to play for a coach who is respected.

You are just like many of the folks on this board...very brave and loudmouthed behind your keyboard. If you live in the Knoxville area, let's get together and talk about those jock-sniffing days as a walk-on...

Please stop with the crap about "No coach in America could do better with this roster." Many coaches could have gotten UT to beat UK. This coaching staff is horrible.

Where did you play football and when?

You're the one acting brave and asking for a meeting so you can whip my ass. There's no loudmouth in me son. YOu're the one who started this thread like you are in the know, which BTW, I know you're not, especially given the comments you made. You are welcome to come to our tailgates next year, but one warning: you act up, your ass will be tossed out and sent to jail. That's no threat, that's a f'ing promise

Lol...no thanks, I don't tailgate with rednecks. I never mentioned anything about whipping anyone's ass either. I just think if you are going to sit at your computer and hurl insults at people, then you should be willing to do so in person as well.

LOL...you've got me all wrong. I think you must be looking in the mirror. You make the statements you've been making , I certainly will tell you straight to your face. You have to do the same too. Of course, I seriously doubt you would call me a redneck to my face. Not because I might whip your ass as a result, but because of how ignorant and stupid you would feel as a result. No one that has ever been a real collegiate athlete would start such a thread and make the pointed comments you have here in this forum. You're not a member of the "fraternity" and it shows.

Yes, you have figured me out.

Hey man, you started this thread. You made some pretty pointed comments about the players and coaches therefore you better be ready for responses that might call you out as to how you might know certain things. Claiming certain players' talent regressed:)birgits_giggle:) and claiming players don't respect one another or the coaches, are pretty strong criticisms. How would you feel if someone from one of the 80s teams stated that 1994 team quit against Florida?

Your disagreement with my opinion is fine...adding in your personal jabs is not. Calling me out for what? I simply put in my background to let people know that I am not some redneck sitting on the sofa drinking beer in my underwear and cursing at Dooley through the TV. Like it or not, walk-on or not, being in that environment does add some credibility. Ping me this time next year, and I hope for the programs sake you can point out all of the areas where I was wrong.

I never said you were a redneck. I know being in that environment gives you some credibility, but still, your criticisms were fairly pointed and unusual for someone that was a member of the team in prior years. Much like Terry Fair and Raynoch Thompson. I can't believe they were being so critical. It's unusual. You didn't answer my question though concerning the 1994 game against Fla

You may not be but you do seem to be hot headed, which means you are short tempered, which means you lack patience in certian areas, which also means that you could be missing out on wisdom and knowledge of the whole situation that you are commenting on.

Just because you played football back in the day doesn't give you the right to come on here and act like you can give Dooley a Grade F to everyone on this board.

If CDD had the talent level that PF had in 93 things might be different but we don't. What CDD inherited was perhaps the worst since Dickey took over and far worst than what Major inherited. To competitve again with the top SEC program year-in and year-out we have to give our coach time to close the talent gap.

DD needs a really great recruiting class....another mid ranked class dooms him.
