Oakley Sunglasses

What color lens?

I've tried grey, black iridium and ice all in polarized, all gave me troubles. Standard grey and black iridium are fine, as well as emerald iridium, which is what I typically play in these days.

Have you tried the G30 lens? Oakley labels that as their "golf specific" lens.

Nothing better than what Oakley offers, one of the few brands I'm loyal too and trust my eyesight to.

That's just not true...there are plenty of better (or at least on par) brands than Oakley. It just depends on what you are wanting to do.

Here's the pair I wear, love em.

I disagree on the polarized thing. I'm not on the water or in heavy snow/white out conditions and I find the polarized lenses mess with my depth perception which really screws me up when I golf.

Not even an issue for me. They're well worth every penny.

I definitely prefer polarized - the only problem is that they obscure LCD displays. Also, I have some tint on my truck and the polarized and tint together creates a little rainbow effect.

On the positive side, the glare reduction is essential - especially in one car where the dash reflects badly in the windshield.

I've used em and they definitely make things clearer, but I don't really care for the lens as sunglasses. I mostly wear the emerald iridium lenses in my customized minute 2.0s and have no issues. it's not worth it to me to buy a golf specific pair.

Also for military/emergency crew style lenses, check out ESS and Wiley X as well.

Love them both. I recently bought the crossbow 3ls and suppressor frames for the range and such. Worth every penny.

We have several people at work that have accounts on the discount website. Usually we get an order up about once a year. I bought three pair of half jackets for about half price.

Damn...that's a pretty good deal. I really like the half jackets, I strongly considered buying them before I decided to go with Radars.

I've been issued all 3. Oakley's blow the other 2 out of the water and it's not even close. Not as comfortable is only the beginning

I'll agree that Oakleys are more comfortable, but I don't think the gap is as wide as you do.

ESS and Wiley-X glasses suck

Gotta disagree with you here. Like I said, I have a set of ESS Crossbows with standard and suppressor frames and I have found them extremely comfortable. In fairness, I have never worn them with combat gear on but out on the range and in everyday use, I love them.

I would never pay more than $15 for sunglasses. Currently sporting a $5 pair from old navy.

Oakleys are good for athletics. Otherwise, for a good beach/relaxing/beer-drinking sunglasses pair I prefer they style of Ray Ban, or the comfort of Maui Jim.

Good for you, but some people want/need a set of nice polarized glasses. Going from tinted sunglasses to polarized sunglasses is night and day.

You don't have to go for the $150 pair of name brand glasses, but they are certainly of superior build quality and protection. Whether they are "worth it" is up to the individual.

I had a pair of Oakleys as a teenager. Got them for Christmas. They lasted about 3-4 years before they started coming apart.

I've also bought polarized glasses before for less than $20 that lasted a few years too. There was a noticeable difference but not something I make a point to buy.

I'm sure I spend too much on plenty of things others think is silly but sunglasses aren't one of them.

There are only so many frame manufacturers so don't think each highline brands makes their own frames. Luxottica is the worlds largest frame manufacturer and they own Oakley as well as RayBan and a host of other brands.
