Unless you play baseball or cycle and need a pair of lightweight glasses that stick to your head well, no.
They are intended to be sport glasses and unless you are competing in a sport that requires them don't drop the $ just for the label.
Going to be a police officer. I need high quality, durable sunglasses that I can wear comfortably all day without them falling off my head if I am doing something physical. These seemed to fit the bill and look damn good imo.
I'm a huge fan of Oakleys. There's a military discount Oakley site for great prices on black ones. I have the Straight Jacket in those and then I customized a pair of Minute 2.0s.
I disagree on the polarized thing. I'm not on the water or in heavy snow/white out conditions and I find the polarized lenses mess with my depth perception which really screws me up when I golf.
Check out Oakley Standard Issue. Somebody mentioned it earlier.
Discounts for Military, Police, Fire/EMT, Pro-Force, etc.
I've got Straight Jackets, Fives Squared, and Gascans from Standard Issue, 1 Oil Rig, and 2 pairs of Mister Potato Head Oakleys (Oil Rig and Monster Pup).
Mister Potato Head Oakley's can be some decent deals...Its essentially when oakley has leftover frames and leftover lenses they combine and sell to move inventory.
2 years ago...I refused to buy anything more that Ironman's from Target. Funny how things change...
