Saban also flew to Las Vegas Tuesday to visit with five-star freak athlete/tight end Darnell Washington, and the reviews from the visit were some of the best from the week. Sources close to Washington said the Alabama head coach met with Washington and several people close to him and the visit went outstanding. The nation’s top-ranked tight end, who can be pretty guarded, was open about Saban and paid attention as the Alabama staff laid out their plans for him.
On the flip side, Georgia has been confident about Washington in recent months, and he’s made multiple visits to Athens, so the Dawgs will factor heavily into the final decision. Jeremy Pruitt and his staff have done a good job and will also be in the mix on decision day, per multiple sources. Washington will round out of official visit slate in Knoxville in two weekends. Still too early to call with Alabama making up a good chunk of ground in the last month or so, but a long way to go.

I am one of the ones who DO believe that Bama is on the decline. I don't think that Saban is going to be able to get back to the top while LSU is having the success they are.

Bama hasn't won the division in 2 of the last 3 years. I think they are 2nd fiddle in the SEC West now, and may be 3rd or 4th fiddle in the SEC if next year doesn't go well.

Just for reference....Bama opens up next year against USC (Southern Cal, not the fakers), and gets Georgia too. Between USC, Georgia, LSU, A&M and Auburn, it is POSSIBLE (not likely) that Bama gets 5 losses next year. If Saban doesn't recover (quickly), then it could get ugly.

I'm not anointing LSU king yet. They have always had great team talent, but didn't have the QB. Who is there QB for next year?

I'm not sure....but if Bryce Young doesn't come in and do amazing things, who is Bama's QB? Mac Jones hasn't exactly inspired confidence....Tua is likely not coming back, and if he does, who knows what shape he will be in?

I feel like Bama and LSU are in the same spot, but the trajectories of the programs are opposites. Something just felt off about Saban's team this year. They felt very beatable.

I'm not saying Bama will keep the West crown either. It could also be Auburn or Texas A&M. Whoever has the best QB play between LSU, Bama, Auburn and aTm will probably win it next year.

Tua's little Taulia brother is a freshmen this year. Pretty sure he'll factor into the mix next year. Seem to recall some thinking he was on par with Tua at his age.

Hate it for them but I'll have to add TSIO as a loss also !

I agree. The West is turning from a running division to a passing division. We have gone from Fournette, Henry to Burrow, Nix, and Tua.

He'll factor in and could be the next to start, but he's not as talented as Tua. All the scouting reports I saw comparing the two noted that Tua is noticeably bigger and a better passer. Taulia might be a slightly better runner. He could really develop and do great, but he came in to college well behind where Tua was as a freshman.

Bama will take USC behind the woodshed
We don’t need UGA beating bamaThe other three would be nice though

6 losses when you count the game against the Vols!

Doesn’t recover from what? Another double digit win season? Bama on the decline would be nice, but what does that really even mean for them? Only 10 or 11 win seasons?

I’d say it’s more probable that Bama will find their way back to the playoffs pretty soon. Don’t want them to. But I don’t see it falling off a cliff.

Bama is not the decline. They lost both games due to horrific turnovers inside the 10 going in that were plays that are rare. Tua just dropped the ball vs LSU and the 100 yard pic six turned the Auburn game 180 degrees. Their D was horrifically banged up since preseason and the best QB in the nation missed the past few weeks. And they still barely lost both games. Not buying their demise quite yet
