I am pretty sure that Hubbs has mentioned several times that Bullard would count against the 25. Conversely, he recently said that it is not a given that Bullard will get put on scholarship. IMO, if he can swing it financially, they can leave him off scholarship and then maybe make it up to him on the back end by paying for graduate school.

If the speculation of Tino heading to Southern Miss is true or happens, then that will open another spot.

It is inevitable that there will be attrition from the current roster outside of the seniors. Some may leave by choice and others may be convinced to leave. It is the nature of sport at this point in time.

If Dooley and Co. can close with the likes of Autry, Meredith, Howard, and any other instant upgrades, you can bet that there will be somebody cut loose from the current commit list in order to make room.

We will sign 25...end of story. There will be a trimming of the fat to the current roster (transfers, graduating players with eligibility left giving up football, etc.). Bottom line...Dooley is not going to carry dead weight on the roster. Some of the current commits might not be part of that 25. We will sign the 25 best players that fit what the staff wants.

i think we sign 26 unless we shcollie up one of our current walk ons. i hearing chatter that toney may get his schollie.

Good. He's certainly deserving.

He's probably gonna be the 2nd or 3rd string back next year, anyway. I think it depends on how good Imani Cross looks in camp.

I am sure you guys get tired of being ask this but please explain the 25 rule and how walk on being put on schollie and transfers count against it. I can't imagine why the NCAA would make a walk on that was put on scholarship(I.e. Toney) count against anything other than the 85 limit.

So let's put these two quotes together: Toney gets a scholarship and we will sign 25. I'm going to guess Tino won't be a part of that 25 in the end.

As of today, we're at 19. Based on what we're hearing tonight, Meredith and Autry will almost certainly be #20 and #21 (hopefully as soon as next Sunday!).

For the final 4 spots, the guys with the most talk seem to be Patterson, Pig Howard, Sentimore, and Elston. That would be a phenomenal close. But it would get us to 25 without an OL or another RB. And OCI and Skeeter have both said that the staff wants an OL in this class and wants another RB in this class.

So how do we get an OL or a RB into the final 25?
- Is one of final 4 guys I mentioned above not going to sign with us? Unlikely - seems like we're in a good spot with all of them and they are all takes.
- Will we greyshirt someone from this class so that we can sign another one? Bullock perhaps?
- Are there any of the current 19 that won't be part of the final NSD class?
- Will we just not sign an OL or another RB in this class?

Skeeter, OCI, others - what do you think?

I think OCI has already addressed this. (Quote is from post #52 in this thread.)
