Nuke's out of jail

Urban runs a clean program full of angels and saints.

Urban's team reminds me of the U's teams back in the 1980s and early 1990s. Thugs thugs thugs. Timmy is the shiny White Knight he parades around to give an air of legitimacy to his team

If I went out on the street and try to rip the eyes out of some guy's head...I'd probably be in jail...and not a for half a day either

Sure I made mistakes when I was 18 but I never committed robbery. A mistake is something you use whiteout or an eraser on, its an oversight. I wouldn't characterize robbery as a mistake, its an extremely bad choice, probably one that was done while impaired. In any event, at some point in the evening he was sober and in complete control of his choices - study school work, read playbook, get rest for upcoming practices/game......nah lets go smoke and rob somebody - that my friend is not a mistake.

Name the felons.

These are all since Meyer has been there. Some are still on the team, and some aren't.

MARQUIS HANNAH
Charge: Felony burglary of an occupied dwelling unarmed and misdemeanor battery in late April 2009 for allegedly forcing his way into a Gainesville apartment and punching a man in the face.
Outcome: Case was dismissed due to lack of evidence, according to lawyer Huntley Johnson.
Team punishment: To be determined.

CAM NEWTON
Charge: Felony counts of burglary, larceny and obstruction of justice in November after allegedly stealing a laptop from a UF student and throwing it out his dormitory window upon police suspicion.
Outcome: Newton received pre-trial deferment – common for a first-time offender – and is serving community service and probation time. The charges will disappear assuming he completes his obligations.
Team punishment: Meyer suspended Newton for the rest of the 2008 season. Newton transferred to Blinn (Texas) Junior College.

JACQUES RICKERSON
Charge #1: Misdemeanor possession of marijuana in February 2007.
Outcome: Charges were dropped without legal ramifications.
Charge #2: Felony domestic violence by strangulation and felony obstruction of justice after a November 2008 altercation with a girlfriend.
Outcome: Charges were reduced to misdemeanor status, then the Alachua County courts gave him two years probation without proceeding with the charges.
Team punishments: Rickerson was suspended for the 2007 season opener for the marijuana charge, then kicked off the team the morning of the domestic violence incident.

JAMAR HORNSBY
Charge #1: Cited for misdemeanor property damage and criminal mischief in April 2007 for allegedly throwing a man onto the hood of a car during a fight.
Outcome: Hornsby received deferred prosecution and the charge was later dismissed.
Charge #2: Unauthorized use of a credit card to obtain goods and services, a felony, along with misdemeanor larceny of a credit card for allegedly making more than 70 fradulent charges on the gas credit card of a female UF student who died seven months earlier.
Outcome: Charges were reduced to misdemeanors and Hornsby took a plea deal – probation and community service.
Team punishments: No punishment for first offense, kicked off the team for second offense. Hornsby served a previous five-game suspension, but it wasn’t for the first misdemeanor – it was for selling his complimentary tickets.

TONY JOINER
Charge: Felony theft in October 2007 for breaking into a car impound and retrieving his girlfriend’s car, which had been towed.
Outcome: Charges were dropped.
Team punishment: Joiner never missed game time, but Meyer stripped him of his captaincy.

RONNIE WILSON
Charge #1: Aggravated assault, battery and use of display of a concealed weapon during commission of a felony in April 2007 for shooting a semiautomatic rifle after a dispute with another man.
Outcome: Wilson pleaded no contest to battery and discharging a firearm. The felony charge was reduced to a misdemeanor and later dropped. Wilson was placed on two year’s probation and given 100 hours of community service.
Charge #2: Misdemeanor possession of marijuana in January 2008.
Outcome: The charge was dropped despite serving probation for his original arrest.
Charge #3: One count of battery and one count of assault for an altercation at an apartment complex in October.
Outcome: Nothing has been ruled on the case, according to court records.
Team punishments: Wilson was suspended for the entire 2007 season stemming from the gun charge, including a full-year suspension from University of Florida academics. Wilson rejoined the team in 2008 but was suspended and eventually kicked off after the third charge.

DORIAN MUNROE

Outcome: Charges were dropped.
Team punishment: No suspension for Munroe.

BRANDON JAMES
Charge: Purchasing marijuana -- a felony -- along with misdemeanor possession of marijuana in June 2007.
Outcome: The felony charge was dropped due to a minuscule amount (8 grams); James served probation and community service stemming from the misdemeanor charge.
Team punishment: Suspended for one game, the 2007 opener against Western Kentucky.

Lane certainly stole a gem from Urban when he got Richardson. After he signed with UT his pot smokin peeps let everybody know that UF had dodged a bullet. He's a punk, not sure how he qualified to get in your school. I guess Lane's cheatin' claim against Myers comes back to bite him...karma, baby, karma.

Just like a Gator. Typical douche bag comment, glad that a kid that got taken from under your nose is in trouble with the law, BTW, have you guys had anymore players stealing lap tops or break into the impound lot in Gainesville? I guess you forgot about those 2?

Maybe we should buy him the book "Armed Robbery for Dummies". So next time he wont use a pellet gun, wear his UT football gear and get away in a Prius with weed on him.

Is this it? I thought that there was even more. Florida fans cant say anything with the criminals on their team. I guess this means that we DONT need to sign Cam Newton, look at all the flack that we could get taking FLorida felon rejects and putting them on the team.

And is anyone not surprised that those rednecks that they robbed didnt have a gun?? I would suspect that those guys would have an arsenel in their trunk.

What was wild?

This isn't at all personal. I'm not an alum. I am a VASF donor and fan. Nothing more.

I just don't take well the people around here that will idolize kids in one breath then cream them in another. Like our boy here Mr. Big Money UT who says he deserves better.

Get over it and try to find it in you to root for the kid now that he needs your help more than you his. He doesn't deserve it, but it's part and parcel to fandom IMO.

Well said.

That's just the felons. It doesn't not include the misdemeanors.

Only two players listed were allowed to stay on the team, their charges were dropped, all others were dismissed. I'm sure UT will dismiss these guys IF the felony charges are upheld. I don't know of any program today that allows convicted felons to play football.

Pretty sure those guys had "something" in their trunk. They knew that they weren't getting jacked for real.

F#$K Nuke....he let us all down. Yeah yeah yeah...just a kid right??? Most kids commit arm robbery...I say leave his dumbass in there and allow him to get used to it. Armed robbery ain't no joke. At least if he stays now, his "street cred" has more time to build up. He should change his name to Nicole...might as well....it will be his new prison name.

:lolabove: This

potentially million dollar talent and a ten cent head .... not really new the the sports world.

I know this is my first post as I do not usually respond to things on message boards because of the ignorance that some people post. With that said, I have seen some of the most pathetic and some of the most intelligent post I have ever seen in this thread. I have seen people mention that these 3 young men owe them something... One of the best lessons in life that I have learned is that nobody OWES anybody anything. They don't OWE you and you don't OWE them. "IF" you get anything from an outside source, you appreciate it. "IF" you can and want to, you give to an outside entity, but you should expect nothing in return. These 3 young men owe themselves. They don't need anyone on here telling them that they are stupid, or that they blew a wonderful opportunity. I'm willing to bet that they have realized that. They have prosecutors and lawyers giving them options that I'm sure they really don't look forward to deciding upon. I'm sure they realize they made a serious mistake. I pray that they have a chance to make it right, however that may be. They will have to accept whatever punishment is dealt down to them, but the shouldn't be punished by everyone telling them they are idiots. As far as the racial comment I read, that is by far the most pathetic thing I have ever seen. If I were to say I was black and was raised a good portion of my life without a father, it seems you would KNOW that it is because my father is in prison somewhere. I'm not black but I was raised a good portion of my life without my father. I wonder what that means? My father passed away and I do not know Richardson's situation, but something similar might be the reason he would grow up without a father figure. It would be nice to read words of encouragement on site's such as these when young men make a mistake, instead some fan's would rather speak of hate and disappointment as if these kids OWE you something. None of the players OWE you, and if you think they do then don't cheer for them. They didn't enter a contract to agree to OWE you anything. They play to there best ability for us to watch. Be thankful for that. They could easily get injured and never be able to play again, or walk again for that matter, then who OWE's them?

Sorry for the long post. Maybe this will help some get there head out of there ass and realize whats important here. Good luck to the 3 young men that are dealing with their mistakes. And good luck to the others with the game today. GO VOLS!
