Posted via VolNation MobileOr 40 time for that matter. Astonishing how many 4.2/4.3 guys end up running 4.4's (or worse) at the combine. So much so many of the top names don't even run at the combine anymore. Keeping with the Harvin example:
WikiAnswers - What is Percy harvin 40 time
Willie Gault ran a sub 4.3 40!!!!!!
Keep in mind Harvin's official combine time was 4.41. The problem is that it's knuckleheads like the guy posting in that link making it look like 4.41 is slow. Truth is, exactly 6 people, regardless of position, equaled or bettered Harvin's time and nobody went under 4.3.
Willie ran a sub 4.3 40 @ age 48. Zoiks!!!!!!

How is it that UF reported that Harvin ran a sub 4.4 40. I think they even report that he ran a sub 4.3. Are they BSing everyone? They supposedly have 2-3 other guys that run below a 4.3

not really seeing the comparison.but you never know, he may blow up.
they dont compare much at all to me..other than speed wise
Harvin was about 6'0 - 6'1 and around 190lbs
Nuke is 5'7 170lbs
Still, usage might be similar. I think maybe more along the lines of Holliday at LSU albeit not nearly as fast.
I wasn't aware the guy was so small...In all fairness Harvin was listed as 6'1" by Rivals so one can see where the confusion would come from. Similarly how certain are we Nuke isn't actually closer to 5'7"?
Not saying that's the case...just saying.
I can't speak for all of them but Jeff Demps ran a freaking 10.01 100 meters in the US Olympic trials. That is literally World Class type speed.
I love Gault but I seriously doubt it. Ask yourself this question;
If Harvin runs a 10.4-10.5 100 meters and clocks a 4.41 at the combine and Gault runs a 10.8 100 meters (albeit at an astonishing 48 yrs old) what do you think Gault's time would be at the combine?
In his prime when he was a 10.1 100 meter guy I'd have entertained the idea of a sub 4.3 but while running a 10.8? Really?
Compare that to Gault, who can still crack 10 seconds in the 100-yard dash, and last year ran the 40 in a blistering 4.27. Age-grading track and field tables suggest that his recent 10.80 for the 100 meters at 48 is the equivalent of 9.76 by a man in his 20s only a step behind Usain Bolt, and fast enough for a silver medal at the Bejing Olympics.
