Those are good points...but I'll add this in regards to the investigation. Do you think this "investigation" would still be dragging on at Bama, GA, AU, FL, etc during such a pivital time in terms of recruiting and coaching turnovers? I certainly don't think so. This point was brought up with the mods on another site. It's ridiculous. MAKE A CALL and let's move on!

I am not trying to be condescending, and I do not think that you are being rude.

I just genuinely would like to know what you concrete things you can say you see Jeremy Pruitt doing that makes you believe he is going to get it done here?

I see a ton of people saying to support him, but rarely - if ever - does anyone say why they believe he is doing a good job.

I agree. Frankly, if we were winning, I don't think we would be having this investigation - or it wouldn't be public knowledge if we were. We would just announce the violations like Florida did last month.

I 100 % agree with you it get's so depressing to read all the negative crap on here, we have tried and fired two coaches already and we are still paying for it, I think we need to give this man one more year and support him!

Sometimes reality is depressing and not positive. I don't like having a terrible football team, in fact, I hate it.

We were forced to fire two coaches, because we hired two losers. It appears that the duress and chaos of our most recent coaching search resulted in us hiring a third coach that is not championship caliber. Until the University of Tennessee gets organized and united in a common goal of building a championship caliber program - which starts with hiring a proven winner at head coach - the team will continue to falter.

This investigation is UT being UT and why we don’t have any good coaches that want to come here. UT white knights the NCAA while the NCAA is dating Bama.

Go figure the success rate of hires at every institution you think are our peers and see what you find. Bama alone, one of the tippy top programs out there had a saga that took forever too. Not that many Saban stories out there. It is entirely possible we took the best odds out there with Pruitt last time. We had hoped he was our next Dickey story coming up from the ranks of respected programs. So our power guys may not like a single guy out there as a solution and thus we hope to hold on till next cycle, but for sure advised our leadership to not fire what we got given a choice. We got boxed in by stupid moves by Hamilton and Currie in the past so maybe we learned something. Hundreds of ANYBODY IS BETTER sagas to study among power 5 schools alone. My position this time is there are probably lots of guys with better odds, but not better enough to sell the farm.

I understand that position, and I can respect taking a hedged bet on Pruitt right now, especially given the situation we may have dug ourselves into with this investigation.

That said, I think there are proven coaches that we know can run a program out there who would be better. Florida would blow Pruitt out in a heartbeat and hire someone new. Georgia got rid of Richt who was winning about 10 a year because they thought they could do better. I just feel like the standards at UT have fallen very far.
