Can’t imagine what this is going to cost to repair. Hopefully the walls and masonry can be salvaged. From what it said on the news many statues and artwork had been removed for the renovation which may limit damage to some pretty irreplaceable things.

I hope the stained glass wasn't harmed. I still think experts are baffled about how the blue stain glance in chartes cathedral outside of Paris was created.

LG can be pretty trollish. I don't think EL is bad.

I'm not biggest discussion person because I'm often lazy when it comes to typing out long posts. It's quick and easy to post tweets. I do a lot of it in a couple threads, which can easily be avoided by those who find it tiresome.

As for McDad, I think it's pretty natural to take a break from a forum every now and then.

Per CNN, they've begun removing artifacts and relics post fire. The French government is not sure how many survived yet.

CNN has this tweet posted, which read to me like things were recovered post fire, along with stuff moved prior.

My French is rusty, but this basically says thanks to firefighters, police, and city officials some artifacts have been recovered. Crown of Thorns, Saint Louis Tunic, and others are safe.

Yes some relics and artifacts were removed before restoration began. The two I mentioned from tonight's tweet were not as far as I can tell, along with other "oeuvres majeures" (major artifacts), recovered tonight post fire.
I'm just glad things are being recovered. Hopefully the damage to them is minimal.

Trump can't even be gracious when extending concern. He tried to tell the French how to fight the fire, which is a complete dumb ass thing to do. He needs to learn to STFU.

If the walls are structurally sound, it seems like the rebuild will be far more manageable that it seemed when the fire was burning.

However, if you looked at the Twitter thread I posted above, you saw the building had some pretty major issues even before today. I guess those will now be addressed.

The good news is that at the speed the French move, the reconstruction will be completed by 2050.
