I ain't "hatin" on Maria but I wasn't expecting some of the poor mouthing from the guys s, so I was listening in a little closer then. And her 2 incorrect cents was not a matter of opinion it was factually incorrect. Just made me wonder how much incorrect things are said about other teams I don't follow near as closely as my BIG ORANGE.
All of them made it a point of emphasis to claim that Khalil and Shy "underachieved" as freshmen, without bothering to note that Tuttle missed half of the season due to a cheap shot injury in the Georgia game.
They were true freshman as well. Good Grief! We shouldn't have had to even play them.

I get it, it's fun to just call D4H a fool but his point is valid.
Kahlil was the #1 overall rated player by one RS.
He had 12 solo tackles. 1 sack. 1 FF.
That is not a big impact and it's fair to have expected more. Nobody is calling him a bust.

True freshmen ball out every year in this conference.
Look at how great Calvin Ridley, Antonio Callaway, and Christian Kirk were last year. Remember how great Myles Garrett and Derek Barnett were two years ago.
I thought the criticism was fair for Kahlil but not Shy. Shy was on his way to a freshmen all-american season before the injury. If he gets back to 100%, he has superstar written all over him.
Kahlil was a disappointment though. He needs to step up big time. His talent demands it.
Let's see, Ridley, Callaway and Kirk were all wide receivers. It's a little easier for such a position to make a serious impact in their freshman year as opposed to a freshman facing off against nearly 3/4 of a ton of experienced offensive linemen. Barnett and Garrett were both freaks of nature that exceeded the norm for a defensive lineman, I'll give you that. But your comparisons are apples to oranges.
K-Mac also sat his senior year in high school. And regardless of who he worked out with prior to coming to Tennessee, you don't think the learning curve might have been a bit steeper for him coming into play SEC ball?

So many fans have no clue about the game. Few, very few interior D linemen have impacts as true frosh. It's a different world playing DT than any other position on the field from a pure strength, size, knowledge and technique stand point.
