Not Likely, But...

We need to offer Peytons son I'd be good with that. I like it when legends leave and they train their sons so they can come here and follow their fathers foot steps and lead us to great things. It helps with recruiting as well.

Why would you even want arch at this point? We got a top 5 overall prospect in nico. And consider this…he’s garnered all the attention he has with no famous family connection. It’s highly possible that he ends up better than arch. And he’s out there working hard to bring other great prospects to Tennessee. Not that it’s a requirement but arch being slow on the trail means whatever team he ends up at won’t have had him helping the class for long. We are a loyal fan base. And if an elite qb is going to go all in with us we need to go all in with him. And for the most part I think that’s what we’re doing.

I think many are forgetting we landed another highly rated qb the same year we landed Peyton. And had this board been around many on here would have ripped young Manning to shreds.

I for one thought Branndon would be the better qb. However after a few games it became obvious that Manning was a more polished qb even though Stewart had more athletic skills.

If we land Arch and Nico...im pulling for both.

Manning would not have survived in this offense ....any Manning.. SACK!!

This amazes me...do you really think he wouldnt have adapted his game?

I think many do not realize the cerebral skills and even more important the work ethic of Peyton. Hos work ethic is the reason he became the starting qb for UT.

We obviously didn’t have the same types of tools back then that we have today however… I hardly think Brandon Stewart was in the same category of hype that Nico is. And really my big point is that Nico has really taken it upon himself to try to build a special class here.
It’s all really irreverent anyway because Arch seems to have no interest in being here.

Arch isn't really a great fit for Heupel style of offense IMHO.
How so? Genuinely curious. Does he have a slow release or is slow at orchestrating a hurry up offense/making quick decisions like HB was?

If you're quick mentally and can throw the deep ball, you can run this offense. It's otherwise tailor-made to be easy to operate.

He literally averaged over 9 YPC last year lol. He's more like his grandpa than uncle. Better runner than Nico, not that running is all that important in this hybrid veer-air raid offense. That would be more of a Butch read-option offense.

An offense that thrives on creating match up advantages and operating quickly wouldn't have been good for PM? Disagree completely. His greatest strength was always reading and decision making. This O favors someone who excels at quick decisions.

We got Nico and he is as good if not better than Arch...Plays against tougher teams as well...Let him go to Texas and have a good career...We don't need him.

Brandon was one of the Top 5 qbs in the nation. He had beaten out Peyton for one of the National hs qb awards...maybe Gatorafe. But he was definitely considered in the same vein as Nico is today.

It would be a hoot if QBs under Heupel end up having outstanding seasons, end winning or nearly winning the Heisman, and the result being Arch Manning decides to come to Tennessee. Not likely, but it'd be a hoot if did happen.

View attachment 461581have happened. But personally, I think the reality is he will end with (gagging) Kiffin, Mike Leach, or Riley.
We don’t want Manning so that would be strange.

Arch is talented.. but he is over hyped due to the manning name. I think the QB we have now is the best one in the class. Nico is the real deal.

You think he's a better runner than Nico?

Arch is actually a really good athlete. I think he's been starting on the basketball team and dunking since his freshman season. He was already tall at 14, but a good athlete to boot.

I think they're both the same in almost every aspect, except Nico has a stronger arm and goes through his reads faster. Throws a better ball too.

I think if Nico wanted to, he could be a Marcus Mariota type runner. But he's already a better passer than Mariota at this stage.
He's freaky quick for his lanky frame.

I'm not sure whos the better athlete.

I can't say he's overhyped.
I think he's a 5 star. And ahead any of his kin at this stage in their careers. But honestly on average most hs QBs in 2022 are more advanced than 25 years ago.
Arch is for real imo. Just not as talented as Nico.
