Not happy with DeBord.

don't you worry about a thing. Debord's got the plan how to fix it once and for all.

Even downfield incompletions are a good thing. At least give these big guys a shot to make a play. Somebody pass that on to Debord please.

As conservative as the play calling was against OK in the 2nd half, the players still had multiple opportunities to make plays to win the game. The coaches put the players in position to win and they didnt get it done.

The worst thing about them going into conservative mode was they failed to run the play clock down along with it. Once they went conservative, if they had ran the play clock down under 3 seconds each play, we would have still won the game. Just a poor job anyway you look at it.

I don't get running the hurry up all the time either, the Vols could have ran a lot of the clock down in the 2nd half and didn't

plus I don't think DeBord has a lot of confidence in Dobbs throwing long passes down the field yet

I have little football IQ, but it seems to me that Butch Jones wants the team to conform to his system instead of molding the system to strengths of the players that he has in his stable.

If he cannot adapt a system to match the players strengths it will be his down fall.

Saturday's game will for me at least answer a lot of questions.
I don't care how anyone spins it, he must win Saturday's game.

with all the talent we have on offense, why is debord not taking full advantage? I get so tired of seeing us being overly conservative on offense. I'm not here calling for his job or anything, but when will we open it up more? We should have beat ou, but defense slacked off and our offense seemed to be content being conservative and not putting more pressure on the downfield passing game. Hurd and kamara are capable of keeping drives going, but why not use dobbs the way we did at the end of last season? I'm just not too happy with our production. Thoughts?

Yes! At some point the players need to step up and make the plays necessary to win games. The difference between UT and OK in the 4th quarter was their defense hot off the field without penalties and ours did not. Mayfield made plays necessary go extend drives Dobbs did not. You can talk coaching all you want but one or two players stepping up would have made a huge difference

Let's see how he does against Florida.

I fully believe that Butch has been holding back slightly, specifically for the SEC part of our schedule. The biggest part of our decline over the last 10 years is no victories over UF. I expect the chains to come off this weekend.

I fully expect Florida to stuff the box and bring tons of heat from the start and make us prove that we can beat it (and it seems that we've struggled with that). I'd like to believe that our coaches expect this and have set up the game plan accordingly.

My son was born a week before the last time we beat them. I never thought he'd be 11 (tomorrow) before we beat them again. At LEAST 11.

Go Vols...

I wonder what the Alabama boards are like ?

Also let me know the results of the poll question.

If the angel of Governor Wallace could grant you one of the following wishes which would it be?
- one night with the Bear,
- a romantic weekend in the trailer with Nick
- lifetime of love with my half brother
- I would rather have a wooden stake carved from the oaks of Toomer's corner driven through my heart than be forced to choose between the three

I have almost come to believe this.

I would love to see a 45 - 3 Dale Carter curb stomping.
