Not another Bryce Brown thread...

If Bryce would have stayed here, and kept his head on a swivel, could he have been better then Trent Richardson?

So dumb.

Bryce Brown was a solid #2 back in 2009. To argue otherwise is ridiculously stupid.

Solid #2 is very questionable. He was #2 on a SEC team who was at the bottom. No way he would have been #2 on one of the top SEC teams. Being #2 on a bottom half SEC team is not producing in the SEC.

Lane is bigger, faster and stronger. Poole has his work cutout keeping him on the sidelines. Especially if he's not at 100%.

Lane will run wild against those end of season defenses, so Poole needs to hold him off by proving himself against some very worthy midseason foes. Once Lane puts up 500+ yards against UK and Vandy, it'll be hard for Poole to win that job back.

If I was Poole, I'd be watching some old Hardesty film before going against that Bama defense. He's got to hit that small crack of a hole so fast and hard, he's got 3 yards before those 5 or so Tide defenders start taking their pops on gang tackling. That 4th yard that we need has to come from a lot of wreckless momentum.

I'm guessing he posted this before reading the feedback. :lolabove:

correct which would only stregthen how ignorant Justin's stance is. The top RB recruits who are not a bust do not get buried in two different depth charts. They earn their way to a starting position and typically do it as a freshman.

I agree with this...you run with reckless abandon and the defense gets tired of tackling guys that fight and put those shoulder pads down on that last yard or so. Hardesty was very good at this... Punished tacklers!

I'm not saying he should have been overhyped by a recruiting website.

I'm saying the guy did his job in his one year here. To say otherwise is ignorant.

Poole doesn't have that gear. He can try as hard as he wants to, he just can't do it.

He did produce in the SEC when he was backing up a 2nd round pick.

Really ? a third of his total yards came against WKU which had the worst D to come into Neyland in a long time. Maybe his hip injury had a little to do with it, but he neither showed the speed to run away from or the power to run over any defender on the SEC level.

His whiff of a block that got his QB drilled today was nothing short of pathetic. I hate it for the kid if he doesn't want to be at KSU, but if you're going to play at least put forth your best effort or just quit. Maybe he'll wake up and realize this soon.

The kid has some physical tools and I still think it's way too early in his career to label him a complete bust, but anybody that thinks he's given any NFL team anything to look forward to so far is delusional.

Did I say that?

He was backing up a future 2nd round pick. He made the most of his opportunities when he got them here.

I don't care what he does at KSU.

Then we are debating two different arguements. I'm only saying he is a bust in relation to the hype he had coming into college football. I agree that he was a SEC caliber backup RB - just not a #1 RB of that class in the nation.

And because Rivals didn't do their job, you bash him?

That's fair.

Yeah.. I don't think many backs do, but just wishful thinking. I think Hardesty's 'gear' to the hole is part of what made folks underrate Foster in the draft.
