Norm Chow endorses Sark for OC

It is not a disease, it is an addiction. Same as coke, heroin, or nicotine. You can stop, you can dry out, you can be sober, but one slide and you can be back in the shitter immediately. I PERSONALLY do not want that at UT. I think that would be a testament that CJP is struggling. Additionally, the guy has exactly 1 game as an OC, 1. The other NCAA stops he called plays and was HC. Therefore wasn't able to pay full attention to either. And if that isn't enough, he and his former AD got smacked by the NCAA for paying officials off.

The guy is an L 7 weenie.
Your wrong. Addiction is actually a proven disease, some people literally can’t control, nor can they help control it. It is a medically labeled disease, look it up. You can actually have a brain scan done to see if u have it or not. It just pisses me off that the people that don’t have it, can’t fathom that it’s an actual disease. I already Know you won’t change your mind, much like others who have this ridiculous train of thought. So I don’t know why I commented on it tbh.

Also your right you can stop, then one bad slide and your back on it. But it’s much more complicated then that. People who truly have this disease have it a lot harder then that. Even if you’ve gotten yourself sober, whether it’s for a year or 10 years, or one week. It’s a constant battle. Things could be going great and nothing comes up to trigger you, but your mind overtakes you and it’s the only damn thing you can think about. It is Truly miserable! It’s not only a disease, it’s one of the hardest to manage out there. People that can overcome this are stronger then the average person. I would welcome Sark with open arms, he’s a hell of an OC!

He was OC at USC for two seasons.

Yet he's only 3 years removed from getting fired from a job for showing up drunk. Meaning he's less than that from sobering up. I would prefer not being a rehab center for a recovering alcoholic. Half this board was pissed when CJP spent 4 more weeks coaching another NC team because he wasn't focused on coaching UT. Why should hiring someone that has a constant demon be any different. Plus he pays refs and gets caught.

Is this the guy who went 0-1 at Bama before jumping ship?

Bama goes thru so many coaches, I get them all confused.

I get what your saying, and it makes sense. I want Sark simply based on his success at the College level.

Sark has been very successful every year, everywhere he’s been! (Excluding this year) I honestly don’t even think he’s been the problem with the Falcons this year.

1) We didn't hire Kiffin for head coach because he burned us previously and he's too immature to be in charge of a 100 million dollar football program. Notice that none of the other SEC/ACC schools that had openings hired him either.

2) You have ABSOLUTELY idea why we did or didn't hire Freeze or Briles. Notice Freeze isn't coaching at Bama or Auburn or FSU either. Probably for reasons you and I will never know. We probably did try to hire Kendall Briles but he wanted to go to FSU. So next up. Maybe Sark isn't the best NFL OC in history, but as a Falcons fan, I can tell you the OL situation is awful. As far as the drinking, its a disease that hes's seeking treatment for and should be a non issue.

Yup. The Falcons have TWO start worthy OL at center and LT, and the LT is only about average. VN is all stirred up about whether we should hire an OC that has a decent chance at retaining his current NFL job. This is what happens to forums when we don't make a bowl game. At least then we delay the stupidity for a few weeks.

The real irony of UT potentially not wanting to hire Sarkisian due to his drinking is how many fans they have driven to drinking due to the product they have put on the field for most of the last 15 years.
