Norm Chow endorses Sark for OC

Don't believe anyone will truly pass the VN test.
Some are highly accepted, until they become a legitimate candidate. Then, the critics sing louder.
"Stats are skewed, they don't play defense"
"Never called plays in the right conference"
"Personal baggage"
"Only good with that QB"
"Coach ___ was really running the offense"
"Crooked teeth, Don't want"

Then they get hired somewhere else and we talk about how we botched the hire.
In other words a bunch of people on here are full of shat! 🤗

Question: What happens when the bowl games all get played then the NFL playoffs come and go and the OC still has not been named? Then who will UT be waiting for? Just something to ponder.

What gives you confidence in Sark? Where he squandered the talent at Alabama to lose to Clemson in the Natty, or where he squandered the talent with the Falcons to go from 33 ppg to 22 ppg? Falcons are looking forward to a high draft pick thanks to Sark so there’s that.

Maybe he can overcome that with all the talent at UT. LMFAO.
It took an act of Congress for Clemson to win that NC. He did well at UW and USC before his drinking hampered him. Some guys just aren't NFL guys....I got plenty of faith (results) to give the reins to Sark.

Let’s hope you’re right. I’m not worried about his drinking I’m just worried about what talent he has to work with.

If the Browns try to hire Bruce Arians he has said that he'd like Kitchens to stay on as OC. That's the only thing holding back Kitchens coming to UT. We'll have to wait....maybe,unless Pruitt/Fulmer make him a generous offer. As it stands now,IMO Kitchens may be the best available. UT is playing this close to the vest leaving everything to speculation so one guess is as good as the other.
Pretty sure they aren't separating Mayfield from Kitchens, heck I even saw an article where Kitchens may get the HC job outright. As long as we are speculating, what about that GB QB coach, Cignetti? Or how about Andy Ludwig from Vandy? They play in a bowl today. Maryland still hasn't fired Matt Canada yet...maybe TN is negotiations on his buyout. He had a 3 yr deal when he went to MD last January.

I am now curious as to who Don Shula thinks that we should hire...?

I spoke to Don about this just 2 days before Christmas. He advised me he had met Fulmer and convinced him to covertly hire Laura Brown, the current HC for the Minnesota Vixen.
The hire will be formally announced January 2nd.

Talent is getting to Knoxville (as you know). I may be 100% wrong, but I actually think he could bring some stability to UT.

NOT getting on a soapbox here but........people in "recovery" are some of the most stable/grounded people on the planet. You would be amazed at some very high profile coaches that are in recovery that nobody knows about............trust me on this one.

Might be a good fit but he might be a risk off the field. I will say i think our future OC is still coaching right now.

Not showing up to work and formal functions while inebriated is as good start in demonstrating one's dedication to sobriety. His problems at Washington and USC are documented and whether he had relapses in Tuscaloosa and Atlanta, I am unaware. If he is indeed hired as our OC, I hope that he comes here and redeems himself and restores us to the feared offensive machine that we once were.
Well, yeah. Since Washington and USC were BEFORE his very public crash and burn. And as we both said, the public in general has no way of knowing if anything has happened at Bama or Atlanta, or how he’s doing overall. (It’s more than just stopping drinking. If that’s all you do, it’s called a “dry drunk.” Your personal demons haven’t been addressed.)

As my own SWAG, I would think it’s too early to come to a pressure-cooker like this place, but that’s all it is: a guess. But I hope he’s doing well and continues to do well, whether it’s here or anywhere else.

Dan Harralson is a dope. He's throwing poo at the wall in the hopes that it sticks.

That was the first Q asked in his interview to become a CFB sports journo. Have you been watching this since Helton was rumored to be fired by Pruitt?

Enjoy to show.

I am holding a seance to ask General Neyland, Reggie White, and Pat Summitt. When the answer comes, I will post it here, and you all can call Fulmer.
