Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2025-26

HH posted some “apology” (if you can call it that) addressing her lingering IG post scandal.

The whole “I was misinterpreted” line made me laugh. The fact that she waited this long to make a statement — if you were that worried about how it would be perceived you would have said something about it months ago.
I'm sure she only posted this because Ivey is afraid that her and Hidalgo are gonna be the only ones left! Ivey probably wrote it!

I 10000% agree with you.

Damage control 🙄

Stories like this are usually planned months in advance, they probably wanted to wait until their season was over so no distractions. Players will go to Notre Dame regardless of what outsiders think.

just some data points from an article on amount spending - by one Texas school, second only to another texas school.

The national spotlight comes after TCU went 1-17 in the Big 12 in 2022-23, missing March Madness for a 13th year in a row. But even during that abysmal season, the program’s financial foundation was already in place.

TCU spent about $8 million on its women’s basketball team in 2022-23, according to EADA data submitted annually to the Department of Education. That was more investment than any other current Big 12 team besides Baylor ($9.8 million) that year. TCU easily cleared Iowa State ($5.3 million), Oklahoma State ($4.7 million) and Kansas State ($4.5 million). BYU, still a year away from joining the conference, spent $3.7 million.

I read some details recently that make me look at the HH situation differently. The post she liked or retweeted or whatever was from her Dad. Apparently they are members of that ultra extreme Catholic sect that our current VP and Supreme Court justices adhere to. Fundamentalist to the max.

That’s what 19 yr old HH was raised to believe. Probably explains why she chose ND. So she’s rethinking both family and faith. That’s a lot. Unless she’s displayed some actual negative behavior based on this religious belief, wrong as it is, I say give her a chance to learn. If liking a post is all there is, don’t cancel her.

Actually, I’ll bet the transfers are more about team dynamics on court. Obviously HH is Nielles fave and was allowed to run amok. NI failed Chemistry 101. Proving you actually can have too much talent.

UConn was clearly the better team but there's no pity party in Columbia for the class of 2025. A record of 144-7 with two natties in four years ain't exactly chicken feed.
People seem to forget. Their best players. No.1 ranked Bueckers....No.1 ranked Fudd.....No.1 ranked Strong. These girls were the No.1 ranked players in their class. You hear about 10 MD all-Americans but this seems to be forgotten.

And what Kara Lawson said about Geno : “He does more with more.” That consistency is buttressed by family and the unlikely consistency of a full compliment of lifers on campus…CD 85, Jamelle Eliot 93, Morgan Valley 99. Kathy and Geno met in college and the kids aren’t kids any longer. The grandkids are noisy now. His mom was a row in front of us at the 2000 title game. Actually sprinkled holy water ! She hid in the mountains of Italy during the War. And it’s true that in 1961 none of the Auriemmas came to Pennsylvania speaking any English. But the happy 7 year old quickly solved the problem when he met the nuns. And it was sports all the time. And TV. And JFK. And the Beatles. And Title IX and when Pat was creating a new college sport he was working 2 jobs. He’s the same …thank goodness. We dearly miss her.

Evidently South Carolina fans were a big part of that group.

Not at all. We the fans were not playing in the game...lol....the team saw what they were doing to other teams. It didn't come as the "huge" surprise. That team was built to take advantage of our style of play, and they did it twice. No excuses for what happened.

Plenty of mouthing about revenge for the home court loss. A lot of the fans and a few of the players were saying revenge is coming. I guess this is normal just getting anyone to admit it after the game is the hard part.
