No luck so far. They shot the ball better in their last outing. Illinois doesn’t bring much in terms of size though. Maryland’s length seems to be bothering them like we did. Most of their 3s have been wide open tonight they’re just cold.

Indiana is a VERY similar team to us. Slightly less athletic but they play a really similar style and they are not equipped to shoot from the outside.

Maryland loves to blow a lead though.

Indiana playing the same game they played against us. Dug themselves a big ol hole and now they’re going to spend the entire game digging out of it. Maryland shoots better than us so I think they’re gonna have a hard time closing that gap. You can’t go down 14 in the first quarter.

Patberg has been incredibly passive tonight. Maryland isn’t doing anything in particular to her defensively aside from Diamond Miller guarding her some. Acts like she is afraid to take it to the rack. Indiana has only attempted 3 free throws. Not aggressive enough as a whole.

Miller is mobile for 6’3” but I think Patberg could take her off the bounce almost every time.

Debbie Antonelli is annoying AF. The rule is excessive or UNNECESSARY contact above the shoulders. They’re trying to prevent people from getting hit in the face (like that) by punishing moves like Miller just made. Intent doesn’t matter. Just like high sticking in hockey. Those plays get punished because they put others at significant risk for injury.

Collins with the And 1. Didn’t look very athletic but it went in. Every time Indiana closes the gap they give up a couple in a row. Need to get to the line and score with the clock off.

Hate to see Maryland win. Not sure why but I don’t like their attitude. Used to be a fan but the last couple seasons I’m not about that life. They look cocky, not confident. Hope to see them get knocked in the teeth soon.

They can score the ball but their defense lacks a lot to be desired. Soon as they come up against a team with some size they’re going to struggle.

I guess it's a whatever-it-takes-to-find-motivation situation for her but, as an outsider looking in, for Rhyne to continue to pout about "being snubbed" is beginning to paint her as neurotic-level insecure -- and for no reason.

I get it! She felt disrespected and came back and made soooooo many coaches regret not having heavily recruited her by going on to become National Freshman of the Year, SEC Player of the Year and a host of other fantastically well-deserved accolades. Rhine Howard is the BOMB!!! I guess I would hope for her that she not make "I was snubbed!" her permanent calling card. She has already proved herself. Now she needs her primary focus to be on winning championships instead of how everyone hurt her high-school-girl feelings. Some next-level maturity is what she needs.

Normally, I would agree, but I'd have to think that Jaz and Rhyne will make sure she doesn't throw herself off the cliff.

That’s possible. I’m not sure I would stick my neck out like that if I were them though. If she’s not playing I’m certain there is a reason. Typically not a good plan for other players to get involved in that.

Is Treasure really 6’1”? The couple games I watched I didn’t think she was anywhere near that size. Maybe she just plays small?

Depends if she's a problem child or if she is having problems adjusting to the game. If she's being disruptive, I agree with you. If she's getting down on herself, it's good leadership from Rhyne/Jaz (not to mention being a supportive friend) to mentor a freshman and raise her spirits. Kyra seems no-nonsense, so I don't think Treasure has done anything to miss playing time...other than struggle to adjust to college and have the misfortune of having other players at her position that are playing better.

Treasure looks like a solid 6'1. She is taller than Blair, who is 6'0.

She has RBF and she knows it lol, she joked about it with the UK media earlier this year and so did her teammates and coaches. Mitchell said numerous times before he resigned that Treasure was having a little trouble adjusting to the speed of the college game and to be patient with her. Kyra reiterated this on her coaches show just last night and mentioned how Treasure has had the best attitude and will play more minutes, but doesn't have to be thrown in because of the depth of the team.
