Expect NW to fall from the rankings this week. They were way over rated to begin with. Their ranking was primarily based on last season. They had not played anyone until this week. Lost to unranked Nebraska earlier in the week. For reference of how we fit in, Nebraska lost to Indiana 81-45 a week or so ago. No way Northwestern is the #15 team.

They graduated Wolf (6’4”) and Scheid (6’2”) and did not replace that size. They have some great guard play but are very thin in the paint defensively.

If they were playing in the SEC they would lose every game by about 25 points. They weren’t at all competitive yesterday against Michigan. Watched the first half and the game was over by that point. They were already down by 29 at the half. The rankings are going to be a mess and essentially meaningless outside the top 5 or 6 teams this season. Still very unsure how they plan to determine who makes the tournament, if we even have one.

Big game tonight in the Big 10. Indiana taking on Maryland, a game that will almost certainly impact how each team finishes in that conference. This is their only meeting this season. A win for Indiana would be a huge step in the right direction in terms of winning the Big 10. This game could have big implications in terms of how much our win over them will matter. We have to take care of business ourselves, but top 25 wins are going to be hard for teams to come by this season. We need Indiana to go on and perform well.

Massey has Maryland as a projected 3 point favorite 77-74.

Alabama vs. South Carolina could be a good one as well. Bama has a veteran team and they have the size to contend with Boston. Would not be shocked to see them upset SC tonight. If they do they will move to 9-0 and almost certainly move into the top 25. The top half of the SEC is going to be tough this season.

Watching Ole Miss vs LSU at 3 pm est today and then Indiana vs Maryland. Bama vs SC may be a decent game SC has a big advantage at PG and Copeland will have a tough time inside. Bama could stay in the game for a while expect about a 10 point SC win. Would love to see Indiana take down Maryland probably not going to happen but expect a very close game.

Indiana Maryland game looking identical to our game with Indiana so far. Tough D from Maryland and Indiana can’t hit the broad side of a barn from 3.
