Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2025-26

Hard to answer really. If HCKH was still here do I think we'd be 13-2 and #18/19 in the country? No, I don't.

But I think we would've been MVC preseason favorites and preseason top 25 and had players chosen for All-MVC Preseason. I think we'd be looking good for years to come.

We are a different team under Coach Mox. We will obviously know more in 2-3 years but a lot has to be said for picking up where Harper left off.

Congrats on your team’s outstanding season so far! While it’s obvious that Kellie’s staff successfully recruited tough, coachable players to Mo St., it’s also obvious that Coach Mox was a fantastic hire and is getting maximum performance out of those players. I also imagine that there are few people more pleased about the brilliant job Coach Mox and the Lady Bears are doing than the Harpers are. Keep it going! :D

Even though they may not be the best team in the country if Oregon State wins they will bolt to number one IMO. Stanford, Baylor, South Carolina and possibly another team or two move ahead of UConn and Oregon. I don't know what order they will be in right now still games to play but as of this moment I would go with this ranking.

Oregon State Has to stay undefeated
South Carolina
Baylor Could move to number two
Stanford
UCLA Has to stay undefeated
Louisville
Oregon You could interchange Uconn and Oregon could go either way
UConn should be at least down to seventh or eighth
Indiana
Mississippi State Likely to move into top ten with so many teams ahead of them losing.

A delightful win, but I think #1 is going to Oregon State if they win tomorrow, probably followed by SC.

If there is justice, Baylor will move up to the top 4 ahead of UConn 🙏

You may be right, but in my mind a convincing win AT Connecticut, where CT has lost only about four times (???) in the past 15 years, is a much bigger deal than any of the other upsets this week. I mean, Baylor went into a hostile environment and ended a home winning streak that CT surely would have continued to build into a number that likely NEVER would have been matched again. They could have, without much trouble, finished this season undefeated at home. But, BAYLOR. That was huge.

I don’t know who I’d put at #1, but Baylor deserves to be in the conversation for it, and should absolutely be no lower than #3.

We (South Carolina) should be undefeated. The Indiana game was a joke. They called fouls on Boston early (minutes in) and she had to sit and eventually fouled out.....Harris fouled out and Herbert-Harringan played with 4 fouls throughout. Baylor beat them by 13 and then we beat Baylor by 14...so...that quick, tight calling in the beginning of the game cost us....We would beat Indiana by a mile if we played them again...but we won't. We also beat Purdue by 36 while they beat Purdue by 18. I watched that game (Indiana) and it still ticks me off at the refs....of course the loss is there but we are a much better team than our record at this point...lol...15-1 and bitching....can't please me ! Also..Cox against big body Boston...Boston wins that battle...

Didn’t Baylor beat Indiana without their all American cox and didn’t y’all play Baylor with out Cox as well? I think both SC and Baylor would put up a good fight with their complete complement of players and this may be the national title game.

The one team I am still looking at out the corner of my eye is Oregon. They have crazy amounts of fire power and I think after the PAC 12 conference the top 2-3 teams in that conference will be battle tested for sure but I just have a gut feeling about Oregon despite their losses. It will be interesting to see how SC and Oregon play UConn.

Please remember when you beat Baylor that Cox was not playing so that is a huge loss for Baylor for that game. I don't know if she wins or not Cox has went up against a lot of big body players in her career.

Lots of good teams in the Pac12. But if I had to bet on the Conference winner right now I might put my money on UCLA or Stanford. UCLA has beaten Indiana and both Arizona teams. Oregon has yet to beat a currently ranked team.

I honestly don’t understand how Oregon has lost games with all the talent on that team. Ionescu is other-worldly good.

Boley has been in a season long shooting slump which hasn’t helped. She’s just off her game for some reason. Her ability to murder people from 3 was a big part of what they did last year. I’m sure she’s drawing more defense because of it, but she needs to adjust.

Their chemistry just seems off sometimes. I do think Maite Cazorla was a very steadying presence last season. She gave them another PG that could get a bucket whenever she chose. Moore is more pass first mentality, very talented in her own way though.

I’m sure they’re feeling some pressure as well. I fully expect them to get over the hump come tournament time.

I am not sure that the Pac 12 teams aren't overrated. They always seem to fall short and the games they win big are mid majors or weak conference teams. I guess we'll find out at seasons end during the tournament. UCONN is UCONN...so that won't be an easy game for anyone.

I said that...Cox vs Boston would negate her presence IMO....I think we have the advantage with the other players we have....Harris, Cook, Beal, Herbert-Harringan, Saxon, Henderson, and Grissett are a handful by themselves. Amihere is still recovering but she will be a huge presence by years end. Amihere was the No.1 player before she got injured...

SC should definitely get the nod over Baylor not just based on head to head, but because they have played a lot of top 25 teams and have handled most of them pretty easily while Baylor has played way too many cupcakes. SC vs Oregon State is a toss up. SC with the better competition and the 1 loss vs and Oregon State with no losses and a decent amount of good teams beaten. No even looking at special circumstances for the SC Indiana loss and Cox not playing. Baylor is good without Cox and Indiana is a good team period that is not some kind of bad loss.

I think it is gonna be 2 or 3 go either way as I think if they do not lose Oregon State will be number one simply because they have not lost a game and their rpi is number 2 While SC is 4 and Baylor is 20. Actually I think SC will be number two because of their rpi and win over Baylor.

I've changed my mind and am calling it Oregon State number one and SC number two. I think the final four is gonna be awesome this year.

Good points.

SC is definitely legit but OSU has played a pretty good non conference and so far is undefeated so I would put them #1. South Carolina #2 and Baylor #3

The elite 8 is going to be a battle. six or seven teams are battling right now. the most pressure is to win your elite 8 matchup. What a weekend of games with a trip to a final four in the line.

This Year more than any year in recent history your ranking doesn't matter. Get to the elite 8 and when the dust settles we will know who the winner is and the rest no one will remember.
Absolutely...this is the jockeying for seed and site part of the journey....The real season starts when the pretenders have been eliminated and that should be by the Elite 8 round.

Is it safe to say Kellie left that program better than how she found it? I am not discrediting the new coach at all... just curious as to if you can see some of the remainders of Harper’s teams?

Drake folded in this game i watched this games on ESPN+ they had the lead with under 2 mins in the game 65-58
