No shame in a close win...

Look across football today.

Unranked USC is giving Michigan the business, top 10 Texas Tech is in a battle with Kansas. Florida is right with A&M. Hot Seat Hugh Freeze is leading Georgia, South Carolina is right with LSU. Oklahoma made the Texas offense look good. Oregon lost at home to an Indiana team with half their talent but a better coach. Oregon's crown jewel win is now 3-3 and just lost to NW. So maybe they aren't that good either. Ole Miss won by 3 as a 33 point favorite. Iowa State lost to a bad Colorado team. Florida State finished crashing from the top 25 losing to Pitt. Welcome to NIL era parity.

The only thing that really upset me today was going conservative up 10 with 8+ minutes to go. Go score right there and they have to start over down 17 but with less time. It was clear they couldn't stop us if we opened the playbook. Same with going conservative on D. We crushed them the second half by rushing relentlessly. We then pulled back the reigns and they scored in rapid fashion.

Squeaking out a win against a terrible team and looking awful while doing it is better than a loss but it doesn’t garner a ton of hope.
Our Offense I believe can shoot it out with any team, unfortunately our Defense can't match that intensity. I just hope we keep it close next week and not get boat raced and if we did some how have a 2 score lead going into the half we'll sit on it and get beat

Clean up the defense? The defense is flat out pathetic. I think it's more than just a cleanup that is needed, my friend.
I thought our defense played a great game, for the most part. Five sacks, three turnovers, and constant pressure on the QB.

I said all week this would be a tight game with Petrino in charge of the game plan and having two weeks to prepare. Heupel said on the post game there were schemes they hadn’t seen on film and their focus in practice was to be ready for anything and be able to adjust on the fly.

Arkansas is a well-coached team that had a great game plan from one of the best in the business. Anyone who thought this game would be well in hand by midway through the 3rd quarter is delusional.

They didn’t.

Correct. The networks and powers that be don't even hide who they want to win. They praised Petrino the entire game and showed him on camera at every break. They desperately wanted Arkansas to win because the media coverage would've been all about Petrino's redemption. The media has turned sports into a giant soap opera. The bad news? Get ready for the same love to be shown to Bama next week.
