At least clemson was smart enough not to load up with any player that would sign on the dotted line. They only took 14 players, players that will give them some quality depth and leave them room for next year when they have a shot at more talent they actually want and don't have to settle for.

I interpret the overloading of this class to be a sign of desperation on Butch's part. He wouldn't have done that if he was looking a a long term strategy.

Plenty of folks satisfied with middle of the SEC recruiting by a middle of the SEC coach. No chance for a title.

Sports writer Mark Wiedner at the Chattanooga Times was at fault losing the Tennessee players. He bad mouth CBJ all year. Made fun of him. But I hate to say it but CBJ just is not the coach. You got to do as well as Alabama in recruiting and Butch cannot do it. He is not a good CEO. He hires and promotes buddies.

Witch Doctor say only problem with this is the board only represents about 2% of all Vol fans no matter what side your on(not hating) just the facts. and only seven thousand have even viewed these post and 80% of that is the same people posting over and over...dont have to argue that one..look to that top of the and to the right on the FORUM POST listing..Numbers Dont Lie.

and I like this board..but its really closer .2% and that might be too strong a number...Thats all boards and this is the largest Vol board..not everybody comes here..or there or anywhere for Vol news most still read the newspaper lol

That stat got thrown out when Clemson won this year. They only had 1 top 10 recruiting class over the previous 4 years. The leading receiver during the championship game who caught 2 TDs including the game winner was a former 2* walk on.

Georgia is the only SEC team to be in the top 20 recruiting rankings for each of the last 15 years. LSU and Florida would have been as well except for a few classes. Pretty interesting statistics.

The problem with all this is stars are up for grabs by the highest bidder at this point, also high star guys are proving themselves to be bad attitudes more then anything these days. I think it's more important to have a very good evaluator at this point. The game is changing...
