You’re right. People shouldn’t be accountable for their own actions. I guess we need to hold Maxine Waters accountable for any attacks on conservatives.I'm not inclined to argue what I saw with your feelings. You realize his involvement is literally why he's banned from all of these communication platforms, right?
Nobody said you said that. I called you out because you made a dig on the other side that can be made about your guy. You're exactly the reason nothing ever gets fixed. Trump slang ******** for 4 years, ran up the debt, interfered with the economy, etc. And he did such a bad job that R's lost both houses of congress and the WH and he's given them every precedent and excuse they need to spend us into oblivion. The next 4 years are on you and your red hats almost as much as it's on the D's, and your trying to put it on me.
You paid for the summer riots too. Sheesh.
The bills passed just now sent tax money to the states and cities and the local areas will raise property taxes to help rebuild and the insurance companies will increase premiums to spread the losses across the state.
Everyone will end up paying something whether they realize it or not.
You're handwaving away Trump's performance during a crisis, but you're conveniently ignoring the fact that Obama took over right in one of the worst parts of the GFC. You can clearly see by GW Bush's tail that Obama was taking over in what was already a severe and steady decline. If you compare Obama's second term, where he had the economy recovering, to Trump's first term, where he inherited Obama's growing economy, you'll see it's much closer. For example, in Trump's first 36 months, before the pandemic started, jobs were up 4.5% from the start of his term. From the start of Obama's second term (jobs up 0.9% from start of his first term) to 36 months after (jobs up 6.8% from the start of his first term), the change was about +5.8%.These 10 charts show how the economy performed under Trump versus prior presidents
Prior to the pandemic, Trump was one of the most economically successful presidents in my lifetime, second only to Clinton. It's fair to have disdain for him because of his personality. But it's unfair to discard his successes.
During his 1st 3 years he was,
2nd - Job growth (Clinton 1st)
2nd - Change in Unemployment Rate (Clinton 1st)
1st - Median Income
2nd - Average Home Price (Clinton 1st)
1st - Average Food Prices
1st - Manufacturing Jobs Increase
2nd - Gross Domestic Product (Clinton 1st)
And Debt,
3rd - National Debt (Not far behind Clinton and G.W. Bush)
He didn't run up the debt until a time of crisis. Obama is the president who freely ran up the debt.
You said you're glad you haven't seen a single tweet. All you had to do was block him and you won't see a single tweet. Unless you like supporting and reading articles about his tweets... Cause if that's the case then your exposure to his tweets are on you. From what... every news site on the planet?
His bygone rhetoric is refreshing.
Just went back and found your answer.....not sure how I missed it.
Thanks, and well said.
I think most Trumpers are much more in agreement with your second part than with your first.
You would be hard pressed to find any liberal who agrees with intimidating innocent people, burning businesses, or murder.
Every liberal I know condemned these acts.
Trumpers claim the rioters represent BLM while non-Trumpers know that is completely false.
I see the rioters as equally stupid, pathetic, and self loathing. I view the protestors completely differently, even though I see their right to protest as equal.I have liberal friends who condemned the Capitol riot while in the same breath excusing the BLM riots, saying they were for a cause. Colin Kapernick vocally encouraged the violence on Twitter and got a donation from them.
I don't mind calling it mostly peaceful if in fact it was mostly peaceful. I would also expect them to say the "non-peaceful" part was carried out rioters who should be charged and prosecuted.
Sure they have said most of the people there were peaceful. I've heard it said multiple times.Did you see pictures of the Capitol protest?

All these people didn't storm the Capitol. It was truly "mostly peaceful." That hasn't slowed the left media from only calling it a riot. They haven't acknowledged that most of the Trump supporters were there with good intentions just like most of the BLM protesters in the summer. It's a gross double standard.

It's the right wing media saying there is a double standard. Did the right wing media point out their own double standard?
That is funny because as I said, I've heard it on every piece. But they are 100% accurate when they say "like nothing we've seen before."Funny, I haven't heard that said at all. I've heard along the lines of "like nothing we've seen before." It's worse than media amnesia. It's dishonest and instigative.
Shoes is on the other foot, eh?
Should the baker be forced to make the gay wedding cake? Either private businesses can do business with who they want or they can't. Pick a lane.
My post wasn't to blast Obama but rather to give Trump credit for improving the economy. And he did so WITHOUT crushing the national debt, unlike Obama.

I rarely knew what he tweeted unless I went searching for it or I paid attention to those in media known to bitch about a tweet. It's not hard to make your own decisions on that. We shouldn't want twitter being the arbiter of your or my preferences on a macro level.
You're an adult. Act like one.
Then stop obsessing over the news. Stop rewarding them for doing what you hate. I don't run around hoping Shaun King gets booted over twitter or Hillary or Pelosi. Its because I'm an adult and can handle not paying attention to it. Apparently you need help with that. How sad.Clearly, you don't read news online at all. On any given day, EVERY reputable news outlet (CNN, FOX, ABC, etc.) published articles that quote Trump's tweets in part or their entirety verbatim.
Sorry for the "big words" I threw in there, but hopefully you'll get the gist of it (that means "understand" btw).
