You could make a compelling arguement that the 5th place vote getter in 1956 (Jim Brown) and 4th place vote getter in 1997 (Randy Moss) were more deserving than the players ahead of them.
woodson is a 3 time probowler. griese started a couple of seasons for denver and was completely mediocre.
and why would ESPN intentionally want to pump up tebow. a guy who plays 90% of its games on a rival network? It wouldn't have to do with the fact he had one of the greatest seasons in college football history right?
woodsen was the best player on the #1 team in the country. peyton was not.
if you guys start competing for NC again you will get another shot at the heisman.

Charles Woodson was flat out sick in college, he scored a TD every game in 97
Johnny Majors was as shafted as was Peyton Manning, probably more when it was awarded to a Paul Horning on an average or below average team that year.I'm conviced that Tennessee will never win a heisman trophy. When we have finished second the most times w/o winning one(4), who needs the stupid thing. I don't want one of our players to be in the same category as andre ware, geno torretta and rashaun salaam and that will be fine with me.
I was referring to their college careers - and in specific, Greise was more important to the success of the that Michigan team than Chuck Woodson.
ESPN got behind Woodson, plain and simple.
And ESPN got behind Tebow. I think Tebow was much more deserving than Woodson.
The good thing for Tebow is that he knows he'll receive at least one first place vote next year.
griese was more important because he is the QB. You said he was the best player which is ridiculous.
woodson deserved the heisman over peyton
It's not ridiculous. Griese was more important and he was the best player on that team. Thus his teammates voted him the MVP of the team for the season.
Woodson got the hype, the headshot with the Rose in his mouth, and the hypesman pose in the endzone. From a statistical standpoint Woodson wasn't even the best corner back in the NCAA.
