No Hardesty at Sunday night practice

Tennessee tailback Montario Hardesty missed practice Sunday while suffering from a 102 degree temperature, UT coach Phillip Fulmer said in a statement Monday.
According to Fulmer, Hardesty left a voicemail with running backs coach Kurt Roper, who did not receive it until after practice.
Hardesty was inside the Neyland-Thompson Sports Center on Monday morning.
Hardesty’s father said Monday his son did not skip practice on Sunday because he was upset about a lack of playing time.
Kevin Hardesty said his son told him he was sick with a high-grade fever during a conversation on Monday morning.

Well, I'm glad nobody on this board jumped to conclusions.

I think we need Sgt Ermey to get the staff squared-away.

I hate Phillip Fulmer, what a worthless individual. I mean not play Hardesty after he was playing out of his mind. The thing that kills me even more is the fact that they had Creer in the Alabama game, I mean the Alabama game for crying out loud. He didnt have any carries for weeks, but he gets to carry it on 3rd in short in the Bama game. I mean if our coaches were any more stupid, I believe any member of Volnation could do better than Fulmer at coaching.

At least he finally figured out what that beeping sound in his house was.

Maybe he should have sent him one during the game...........Hey Roper.....I'm down here...should any third and shorts come along......MH!

He couldn't call because it was to early. Will might be on to something with this 11:30 game time. If the game had been at night MH would have been able to use his Verizon Wireless phone without being charged extra.

Creer has played in most games this season. I question the call too but to say he hadn't played is wrong.

And worthless individual? Bit much...

What your statements, Ceer is only trying to do what the coaches give him, that is get the ball once or twice a game, how can he build off of that? Creer will be a good when he part of the game not just stuck in like that. I don't like your comments:no:

If Creer can manage to avoid our coaching staff's doghouse he will be the next great back at Tennessee.

Now wait... he shouldn't have been in the game or he shouldn't have been in the game at that time?

Look, some of us are obviously upset about Foster not being in the game at that moment, but NOBODY would have gained any yards on that play. Plus, we can't have it both ways when it comes to playing freshmen. You can't on one hand point out Jamal Lewis not playing against Florida in 1997 or not traditionally getting young players on the field, and then turnaround and criticize Fulmer for playing Creer Saturday. I have less of a problem with Creer playing against Bama, I have a problem with playing him in that particular situation... big difference. That was his first carry of the game, I believe. You gotta let these young guys get into the flow of the game and get their legs under them... this staff doesn't do that. It has shown consistently this season to have these guys iced away on the bench, and then hurry them out there in a trick/gimmick play situation when these guys haven't been able to work the nerves out of their system (or allow themselves to set up the gimmick play by getting them guys on the field before hand).

If they do so publicly, they should be disciplined and / or kicked off the team. Hardesty as well. It's crazy to say that you don't blame players for showing their a$$. Attitudes like that are for losers and that is what is responsible for at least part of our woes. We all know that opinions are like @#$%$%#$.....but some of the opinions here blow my freaking mind.

I admit, I've been a Fulmer fan, then on the fence. I'm off that fence and agree that a change is necessary. But, to excuse behavior that wouldn't be acceptable under better (winning) circumstances is assinine.
Couldn't agree with you more Bill.Sounds like most feel it would be better to let the players run the team.
