Tennessee tailback Montario Hardesty missed practice Sunday while suffering from a 102 degree temperature, UT coach Phillip Fulmer said in a statement Monday.
According to Fulmer, Hardesty left a voicemail with running backs coach Kurt Roper, who did not receive it until after practice.
Hardesty was inside the Neyland-Thompson Sports Center on Monday morning.
Hardestys father said Monday his son did not skip practice on Sunday because he was upset about a lack of playing time.
Kevin Hardesty said his son told him he was sick with a high-grade fever during a conversation on Monday morning.
