Nintendo Switch 2: June 5th, 2025

I think that Game Pass is great, especially now that the price hike was somewhat kneecapped, but agree that PS5 vs. XSX doesn't end well for Microsoft.

I am steadfast in my belief that the Nintendo Switch 2 is the single worst system I've ever purchased in terms of "value" over its first year. Mario Kart World sucks, Bananza was excellent (better than Odyssey, even!) for around half of its showing and then became an absurd slog, I don't really enjoy social simulation games and thus Pokopia missed the mark... am I supposed to care about the umpteenth Star Fox remake? Another formulaic Yoshi game? Can there be a first party title that is both A) exciting and B) incapable of running on the original Switch?

I keep pushing back buying one. I'll probably grab one in August-ish, just before the price hike.

Once I realized I'd just be using it as a portable Gamecube machine, I just figured I may as well keep playing what I've already got on my Switch and use my little monthly fun money budget for other stuff.
