They've already said they will take care of it in the US

For how long?

Given the price bump, the fact that they haven't fixed the drift issue, after last gen and multiple lawsuits, is a deal breaker IMO. I don't care what they do to "take care of it".

I'd have to go look, I just remember seeing it around launch.

I think during someone's break down, it's the same mechanism as the original design.

I'm surprised that Nintendo didn't opt for Hall Effect joysticks, especially on the Pro Controller but also for the Joy-Cons given the immense problems with stick drift on the first console. Seems like an own goal.

On a lighter note, how is everyone liking the Switch 2? I haven't played it too much but Mario Kart World definitely grew on me. Really hated the Tony Hawk-esque "innovation" at first, and still do, but the game is definitely still very playable, fun and winnable if you're not jumping your cart onto rails/walls.

Hopefully they'll come out with a Switch 2 Lite. Never had issues with my lite and it's been through "the wars" for me and my daughter. Replaced joy cons on the regular Switch 3 times and it's used way less.

But I'm seriously considering going to a Rog Ally instead. It'll be the end of an era, as I've owned every main Nintendo console since the NES. But they keep doing stuff that sticks in my craw lately

We'll see if I break when Metroid or the next Zelda comes out.

I'm thinking I'll get one in September/October timeframe, and probably grab the FF Tactics remake around the same time. Likely will give my OG switch to my now-retired mom so she'll have something to do.

I was between the Switch 2 and a PS5, but with a baby on the way I think a Switch 2 with its portability is way better value for me.

I'll continue to buy Nintendo systems because* of the exclusives.

That's where they get ya lol. It's easy for me to say I'm not gonna buy one until the new Zelda or Metroid comes out.

I'll probably look to the used market if I do get one though, so I can minimize the profit in handing them. The stick drift is definitely a problem again. They didn't even attempt to fix it. That's some BS. Hopefully the 3rd parties will put out some decent joycon replacements with hall effect sticks.

Right now I have I find myself on my Xbox most of the time anyway, despite the PS5 being more powerful. Gamepass keeps putting bangers out and I don't have time for much else.

Of for sure lol.

I was surprised they didn't do anything to address that issue. Although, at the same time I do somewhat understand. Controllers are an "expendable" item. I've had to toss Xbox controllers after awhile.

I own all 3 systems. I can't remember the last time I turned on the PS5 (they played Harry Potter yesterday). The kids play that more (might actually move it to their game area). Heck, I had to buy another Xbox for them so they'd stop playing on mine lol. We play the Switch together on occasion.

Tactics is one of my favorite games of all time. I played it back when it came out but never beat it so I played through it again many years later on a ROM and beat the game. I doubt I would play through it again though.

My daughter plays the switch and the Xbox. I don't think she's ever plays the PS5. We do play Mario cart or Smash together sometimes. But none of her friends have a Switch 2 yet. So I don't have much reason to get one for her. She's mostly into jrpgs right now anyeay and there are tons of those on the original Switch that you can get for a song used.

The original plan was to give her my Series S once I got the PS5. But a I'm still on the Xbox constantly and have 4 or 5 games in line to play next on it. If you don't like a "Souls" games the PS5s single player offerings are somewhat limited. I'm starting to wish I bought a Series X instead of the Playstation.

I'm about to need a new PC anyway. So the Ally is attractive, especially if the new Xbox integrated ones don't cost an arm and a leg.

I'm about halfway through (I think) Tactics Ogre Reborn right now. Scratching the itch.

I rolled through Tactics Advance and Tactics A2 as a kid and really wanted some tactics-esque play so got Tactics Ogre to pass the time.
