Has anyone thought that maybe the "two tone" gray isn't actually two tone and it's just due to the poor lighting on the picture? I mean it almost looks as if the torso was lit with a flash on a iPhone camera. Regardless, I think the uniforms are top notch and Nike has served us well.
Nike Elite is like playing with a pro v1 instead of a nxt tour... Big step.
Btw... Is it just me or would an orange helmet not be amazing with the grey????
I am delightfully surprised and happy to admit that I was wrong if these are the real deal. I'm still skeptical that in the future Nike won't pull some ugly @ss BS like the UF, VT, and Miami uniforms from not too long ago, but these look great. I love the checkerboard detail, the black on gray, and the gray helmet (with or without the Smokies). I've never really been a fan of Nike but that will change if this is the type of end product. Still hate Nike cleats (broke both of my big toes and lost both toenails all in separate incidents while wearing Nike's), but looking forward to the apparel.
I agree that the orange helmet would look awesome on the grey, but as DP has stated in the Vol uniform/helmet design thread, it is nearly impossible to get the helmet to match Tennessee Orange in all different types of lighting. It may look great during a day game, but a night game under lights it may look like a different shade.
EDIT: Although I think the orange would look awesome, I would still chose the grey with the rocky mountain design over it.
