Nico to UCLA?

So much speculation in all of this. If Nico is just riding on his dad's greediness, I hope it works for him at another school. If he is acting like a petulant spoiled brat, I hope he ends up playing JUCO for nothing. It is truly sad, the examples that are being set for and by our young people. I am glad players are getting a piece of the pie. This is an example of what not to do.

This just keeps getting worse for him! I get they are trying to point fingers back at Tennessee - but it is becoming apparent that he needed to go.

I think he and his team made a power play and didn't have the necessary power to complete it. They didn't "count the cost" to borrow a phrase from the Bible. He may wind up at an FCS school. But if he does land at an FBS program, I hope we play them in a bowl game at the end of the season. (Just a regular bowl game as I don't see us making the playoff this year)

I'm sure there will be a flood of UT swag on Ebay now that the family is moving on. You know... game worn stuff with popcorn and soda stains on them .

I haven't read all the comments and threads, so sorry if this has already been discussed. How do UCLA's receivers and O-line compare to UT's?

I don't see UCLA even in a regular bowl game. They don't recruit well. They were 5-7 last year and play a tougher schedule this year. Also, UCLA's offensive coordinator has never called plays before.

And on a side note about that program ... Chip Kelly left them as their head coach just to be an offensive coordinator at Ohio State. Can you imagine a head coach at Tennessee ever doing that?

Nico Iamaleava poised to lose millions over Tennessee standoff

Big Nic said, ‘We want you guys to reassure us that you’re going to recruit and get the O-line right, that you’re going to go out there and you’re going to get receivers,’” the friend said
Did Big Nic ever consider telling his son to work on his own game? Instead of being so focused on his teammates? On that infamous last play at Arkansas, when Nico ran out of bounds after the clock had hit zero .... he had an open receiver.

They were about 115th in offense and 112-113th in sacks given up. UT O-line was a Joe Moore finalist. UT receivers underperformed but Thornton and Bru will get some interest from NFL clubs. Both significantly better than UCLA.

Crazy thing to me IF he actually does end up at UCLA is that his people say it was the "Tennessee Offense", but Coach DeSean Foster hired Tino Sunseri from Indiana where he was an assistant under Curt Cignetti and followed Cignetti from James Madison.

You know, the same Curt Cignetti that runs the EXACT SAME basic offense that Coach Josh Heupel runs with WRs spread to the side lines and is predicated on a run first, then strike deep mentality.

So how is Nico going to be any better there?
