I get the whole bit about the horse wreaking havoc on the field, no one wants that. We could always make a track out of sand behind the UT bench for the horse to run down at the start of each game and then the grounds crew could just rake the sand smooth. Too many teams use big animals as part of their tradition and figure out a way to make it happen. (FSU, Oklahoma with their wagon and Texas for example)
Agreed with all of this! Neyland Stadium is the name and it doesn't need some gimmicky nick name.
Also I LOVE the TN Walking Horse and wish they would make it a permanent pre-game tradition for every home game. The cannon was awesome!
