Easy to remedy?
You can't play high level football with blood clots in your lungs. Period.
Why are their blood clots? That's the first question. If you can figure that out and remedy the underlying issue, great. If not, you need to be on blood thinners. You need to be on blood thinners for at least three to six months after multiple PEs in your lungs. And maybe much longer, depending on the underlying issue.
High level football is high risk for head injuries. Activity that is high risk for head injuries while on blood thinners? Not a good idea.
This is anything but easy to remedy.
Unless it's from illegal steroid use. Then he should be able to avoid future clots from not doing that anymore. But that leads to eligibility issues.
My guess is that Smith has played his last game at UT. I hope I'm wrong. I hope he's back next year, healthy, and that he dominates. But that will surprise me.
