Apparently By rule there's a 10 sec runoff inside of 2 minutes when you go from a stopped clock to a running clock. Sounds dumb as hell.

Apparently, the rule was implemented a few years ago because it was felt that it was unfair to the defense to stop a running clock for a review (in effect giving the offense an additional timeout). In this situation, the offense can avoid the 10 second runoff if they have a timeout left. The Lions didn't have any timeouts left and since only 6 seconds were left, the game was over.
