Morning everyone.

Up to work on the “we aren’t going into 2018 with this mess” list.

Plus soaking the beans for tomorrow’s soup.

Well, we kind of screwed up the timing, having forgotten about the 12 hours in the fridge thing, so the tenderloin is rubbed with kosher salt and rosemary and garlic, tied up with butcher’s twine, chillin’ in the fridge, and postponed until tomorrow. Beans go on to soak tonight to await the final hurrah of the Christmas ham tomorrow.

Worked out the numbers for my retirement schedule (fingers crossed, please please please Lord, please.)

Replacing ornaments that the usually-dignified 14-year-old cat “accidentally” bumped off the tree. The tree stays up till January 6 to get in the 12 days of Christmas, by golly.

Champagne chillin’ and the purely amazing Gregory Porter’s “Live in Berlin” playing.

Happy New Years Eve. Here’s to a good 2018 for all!

As best as I can tell, no.

It's colder than a witch's t!t (18.3 per our outdoor thermometer), and there were some flurries earlier that put a little bit of slickness on the driveway, but I think it's mostly OK.

We don't care, having a ton of food and booze. And toilet paper, of course. (No need of diapers, as the Tiny Terror is at home where he belongs.)

You're not trying to drive up this way, are you?

eta: note: we don't watch local TV, or much else for that matter, so for all we know, the roads could be wall-to-wall wrecks. :crazy:

My plan was to see random movement at timo’s house but I’ve heard 40 is closed. No biggie either way, I have a cold. Happy New Years, btw!
