You’re right....I see that here and in Tennessee. I went to ETSU and my husband is from Alaska. He’s very new to the College football scene. But he married into it lol. It’s been tough to explain to him that a lot of Tennessee fans didn’t go to UT. Puzzles the hell outta him.

I'm a '89 ETSU grad. also. My wife is from Wisconsin, she gets it though. Cheese Heads are as fanatic as SEC fans.

I don't process shock, disappointment, anger, and sadness as well as many of you do. I'm legitimately impressed. I'm just hoping apathy will hurry and set in.

Maybe Haslam isn't getting as much say as we fear ... MAYBE ... I sure hope like he!! he isn't.

Or maybe his propaganda PR machine (SOURCES, yeah, right) is in motion.

Hey I'm all vol! I actually made a coach gruden profile in 2012, but couldn't remember the log in info :dunno:

Haha. Just messing with you. I thought it fit since this is no longer a Gruden thread... Then here comes Gruden walking in like everythings cool.

Plus, i wanted to have the first gtfo of the thread :D

We were there at ETSU around the same time! Yeah, Wisconsin cheeseheads are rabid. I’ve got a friend from there and she’s nuts lol. Glad your wife gets it. Mr. Mink is getting it more now that we’re back in the south. He’s even been reading up on the hire. So proud of him.

The one good thing I see as a positive is that he was at Alabama for 8 years and he knows Saban's system. There has to be some positives in that.

We now have 3 former Saban Coordinators as Head coaches in the SEC!

Don't forget Dooley!

Last night was a bummer. I’m disappointed but I’ll give Pruitt a chance. He has to prove it to me though.

As far as Gruden, jury is out there as well. I can’t wait for details to come out so we can see how this all turned out.

Packer's fan here :) Still want to majorly injure Anthony Barr in response to a previous grievance.. Does Mr. Mink agree with me?

Here's where I am^^^

I'm not wired where if something is important and lost I can just go "Oh well"...eventually, yes.

Like someone else said..everything is just stupid, right now.

Gruden till it ain't and it ain't ain't, yet.

I just hope I live long enough to see Haslam's influence die out, one way or another.

Good morning, everyone. Glad to have a new home for this wonderful community, and Neyland is a great name for it.

It appears we're about to have a new head coach. He's not a household name, at least not yet. He's not a "splash" hire. He's not an offensive genius. He's not a Vol for Life. In fact, he has exactly zero days of previous UT affiliation.

Got it.

So here's what I'm gonna do, the minute he is formally announced as our head coach: I'm gonna back him. 100%. He will be wearing orange, and trying to win championships while coaching our lads.

That's good enough for me. He has my full support.

We still have a few hours to get our thoughts out before that switch gets thrown, so I will totally understand if people use the time to air their frustrations with things that weren't, or might have been.

At the end of the day, though, you fight the battle you find yourself in, not the one you wish you had.

If you can't, you go find some other team to support, or give up football altogether. I understand. I don't agree, but do understand.

For me, I'm all Vol. For life. Hoping for great things with Coach Pruitt.

Go Vols!

My thoughts exactly
