I cant take anyone serious that looks at a QB who has a higher completion percentage then Peyton Manning did, but has under 2 seconds to throw the ball!, gets the living hell knocked out of him and is out there!, someone who gives there all for the Vols, and with a good surrounding cast and Oline, could win the east and possibly more for us.I can’t take anyone seriously that believes JG is good.
Ok, I'm down and need something else to talk about. I'm going to stay away from the coaching angle due to plenty of threads already listed. I will stay positive about our players today (you didnt hear me last night)...
So lets look at the East. I dont do research so this is more you giving info + opinion.
Georgia: Talented and young. Major problem for us for a while.
Florida: Seemed to take to their new staff better than ours. This frustrating since they have some of our former coaches. Starting QB is back but dont know about their trenches. Didnt seem to have many playmakers but were still effective. Due to Mullen a problem for many years.
SC: Talented but may have some players leaving (or Im hoping). Good Defense but Muscamp (sp) seems to underachieve each year. Hoping that we can finally beat him next year.
Mizz: New QB.... hopefully a win next year. Dont know much about them. Please fill me in.
Kentucky: Hopefully Snell is gone. I think they lose a lot. Another win.
Vandy: QB is gone. Seems to have some playmakers on offense though. Hopefully we never lose to them again.
Wow I thought I would feel better, lol. Year two with new recruits...S&C gains...
TENN: D line completely replaced, scary regardless of how bad they were.
Hopefully improved play out of Oline, LBs, DB's (young but looked really good at times), running backs, tight ends. I think JG is good, not great but good.
What say you and ignore my spelling...
Florida will win in the East. GA will come in second. (FL will play AL in championship game... again) The SEC is so predictable it's boring.
Added problem for TN is that ALL conference games count in the quest to win the east, not just eastern division opponents. So add Alabama and Miss State to the equation.
Sorry, I am probably just too pessimistic with the way we finished this season, but I don't see more than 3 sure wins on the 2019 schedule. Throw in BYU in Knoxville as a maybe. So, for me, a significantly improved W-L record in 2019 would be a nice surprise, but I honestly don't expect it. The most I feel I can expect from this team is more competitiveness and fight, even in losses. No more blowout games that are over before half time. That would be a good place to start having hope again.
If Mizzou has even an average QB next year we should be okay (7-8 wins)
If we land transfer QB Kelly Bryant then we could be pretty solid, but still behind Georgia in the East. This team has solid skill players. Secondary will still be easy pickings for any good quarterback, though
It may get worse before it gets better, but it will get better. We may need to pick up some jucos that might be able to contribute immediately.
I can't take anyone who thinks that seriously. Do you just not watch football? Maybe your one of those fantasy football guys that just don't get the actual game? Shame sir, shame...
Less than 6 wins next year if JG is the QB.Ok, I'm down and need something else to talk about. I'm going to stay away from the coaching angle due to plenty of threads already listed. I will stay positive about our players today (you didnt hear me last night)...

I'm not going to make any guesses about Kentucky until aftet their bowl game. Mark Stoops has managed to either slowly improve or hold steady every year he's been in Lexington. The big question I have with him is, is he at his peak, or does he still have room to grow.
Schedule is set up to have some success, but I just don’t know that we will be in position to capitalize...again.
Capitalize, to me, means 7-5 or 8-4 for year 2...and part of that means closing out November, and not getting throttled in losses (other than maybe UGA and Bama). Pruitt will be under much scrutiny if he tanks November again. Vandy and Miz lose good QB's, KY loses a ton of players, and Miss St loses their QB. Importance of good QB play can't be under estimated, and see some regression of a few of our rivals. If "capitalize" means winning the East, then clearly not. But BYU and turnover amongst teams in the East should allow us to get out of the cellar and maybe create some recruiting momentum.
Will take a bunch of more talent before we will have a sliver of hope of topping UGA, especially having Bama on the schedule every year. 2015 and 2016 were our best chances, given a 10 year span, and we blew them. Hope lies 2020 and beyond.
