So reward subpar play by starting them the next game, haven't we tried that method for the last four years?I would play JG against KY but if he has back to back turnovers that he is responsible for I’d put in Shrout or Maurer. If we have a sizable lead let HB play some to get experience.
Alabama- We should give Maurer first quarter, JG second and Shrout third quarter. Play the best playing QB 4th quarter. Maybe HB last quarter to throw Bama off?
With the second half I watched yesterday, I can’t honestly say that KY will be an easy win.I’m the coach....so I see Tennessee can’t get it done with it’s current QB. I let the top two “other” guys have all the snaps 1 & 2 throughout the week.
VS KY I start whoever looked the “most complete” and the “most ready”......not necessarily who was the best. Depending on the situation I may give the other one a shot as well......but I would not simply rotate them in and out.
Do I think Tennessee could beat KY with JG....yes; however I don’t think Tennessee could be what I think they are capable of being with JG.....therefore I would make a change.
So you would be happy to lose trying to get 50yards from running ? How about we just get balanced on play calling and be more creative with our run playsFirst thing I would do is run the living crap out of every Olineman that played Saturday...and when their tired, sweating, and can't run anymore, I'd run them another mile...is it just me or because they were all 4 and 5 stars they play like they are entitled.
Second thing is start BM or even HB against KY instead of JG. Maybe that does why it did last year and fix that crybaby pouty lip attitude...team attitude reflects leadership and if that's how your leadership acts that's how your team responds.
Last thing, I tell Chaney if he throws it one time before we have 50 yards on the ground, he's going to run with the team next week.
This also plays into recruiting QBs. How would you ever get the next best thing here if they know they will not play and have to sit behind QBs not playing well.If you don't play HB, a five star, and sit him behind sophomore 3 stars, he's gone and I don't blame him. No doubt about it. He's not ready. But he'll never be ready not playing (and yes I understand that's a double negative school marms). Dobbs wasn't ready as a true frosh but playing early worked out for him and the program. Sit JG at the first sign he's gone wobbly, get HB in there and go with it.
I agree. Don’t want the freshman getting all upset sitting behind 3*s. None of the qbs are ready because they’ve been given no opportunity to BE ready. Give him his chance. But throw him in vs Alabama so we can see how he truly stacks up to that 3* he’s sitting behind. If you don't play HB, a five star, and sit him behind sophomore 3 stars, he's gone and I don't blame him. Not at all what I'm saying... but I see your point. So you would be happy to lose trying to get 50yards from running ? How about we just get balanced on play calling and be more creative with our run plays

We had the most prolific offense in UT history with Chaney. All he needs is a competent QB.The FIRST THING I'm gonna do is give Chaney his walking papers....He SUCKS....
I'm sick and tired of watching his sh*^ show of an offensive game plan and play-calling in 2nd halves against the better teams.
UGA was overpursuing all day long against us...No misdirection to use it against them except 2 pathetic slow-developing reverses.
Did you see the first play of the Ole Miss/Bama game?? Kiffin threw the ball back against the over-aggressive pursuit of Bama's defense and wore 'em out.
Chaney has NEVER demonstrated the ability to overcome the better defenses--even when he had all of that talent at UGA--IMO
And SO DID UGA with Chaney, too! When are you guys gonna realize that putting up a lot of yards against mediocre teams in the SEC doesn't mean that you are good offensively. We had the most prolific offense in UT history with Chaney. All he needs is a competent QB.

We were leading because of a freak snap by UGA that sailed into their endzone. I don't see us being able to outscore Alabama, and I'll never think we can beat Florida until the game is over. That second half team that showed up could lose out. I'd roll with Bailey the rest of the way and if he's legit, we will be golden for 2021.
