That really would make sense. They would get the games in the hands of more people that way too. I know I'd be much more likely to give the latest NBA game or multiplayer FPS a shot if I didn't have to pay $60 for it. I am a little worried the micro transactions are going to get out of control with this buisness model though.
That and my concern is how will this business model affect game development in the long run? By putting your games in a subscription service the same day they go on sale, you're essentially cannibalizing potential sales of those games by electing to let people play them behind a subscription. Is MS just going to continue to subsidize the potential loss in sales for these developers so they can stay profitable? Will it entice developers to cut their development budgets in order to see a higher return in profit? Will games in Gamepass ultimately just be a library of mediocre A and AA games?
