New Xbox: Xbox Infinity

gaming is a billion dollar industry. don't kid yourself. they are doing fine obviously.

They as in everyone? Not every gaming company is doing fine obviously. I guess you didn't hear much about 38 Studios being shut down. There are companies being shut down all the time because their profits aren't high enough to keep going forward. Not saying it's completely GameStop or Gamefly's faults, but it doesn't help to see people buy "used" copies of a game and those people who worked hard to make those games not see a cent from it.

Companies like those are bad for the gaming industry. The developers who work their asses off on making the games don't receive any money from games that GameStop resell. They take trade ins and then resell them for 50% more. Thus, screwing over the customers and the companies that work hard to make these games.
It hurts people like my little cousins who can only afford used games from Gamestop. It doesn't really put money back into the pockets of the developers either. They don't sell used games now and they can't if they start account tied games. If they really start doing this to try and force people to buy their games new then they need to lower the prices and offer all the extra DLC at no additional cost. It's only right IMO.

GameStop can live off not selling used games. A lot of their sales are driven off of accessories and DLC cards anyways.

not everyone can afford $60 video games. me personally i can, but i think its ridiculous that you or anyone else for that matter may not have the option to buy used. are there not car makers that struggle? my point is that gaming industry as a whole is booming. selling used games should be of no consequence the the majority of them. bottom line, the greedy always get greedier.

it will also effectively ensure that when you are done with a game it will sit squarely on your shelve and you will get nada for it.

You can just as easily sell it and have someone else purchase the license for that particular copy.

I'm here ^^

They showed a lot of neat tricks but left the elephants firmly planted in the corner.

Horrible reveal by Microsoft, pretty shocked most of the rumors were true. It's like a PC will all of the disadvantages and none of the advantages. I mean, what's the point?

Console gaming is on its deathbed.

No it is not, there will still be millions that buy that or PS4.

Maybe, at least the PS4 has something that somewhat resembles next-gen hardware. I'm hoping there's some significant backlash when it comes to Microsoft. No backwards compatibility, tying the disc to one console after online authentication, and keeping Xbox Live gold.

But I meant in general, console gaming as we know it is on its deathbed. You can call this something else.

What the hell are you talking about console gaming is in its deathbed? I easily know 20 people who play consoles for every one I know who plays on a PC.

Also, did you seriously think MS was going to ditch XBL gold after its been so wildly successful? How stupid of a business decision would that be?

Where are the games? Where have rhey been? It's just pandering now to a casual market that no longer cares. say that because I don't think they'll be around much longer. This is more of a media set top box than a console. 8 gb of ram(5 for games, 3 for OS and this is at all times). All the other reasons listed as well.

Obviously I didn't. Interested to see if they can pull it off with the PS4's online feature set.

They'll pull it off just fine. People who are familiar with it are perfectly content paying the $0.13 a day that Live costs.

PS4 is stronger.

Kinect is required.

More focused on entertainment instead of games.

Easy choice, PS4 wins.

If anyone expected much at all of games being revealed today, they might need to get a clue. This was all about hardware, which they highlighted. It was well known that we wouldn't see much of anything as far as games or live demos today. Those will be shown at E3 in a couple of weeks.

News today say the name will be Xbox Now!

Also being reported:

There is now a full 12 gigabytes of high-speed RAM in the new Xbox Now! console, unlike the previous rumors of only 8gb.

* To be precise, there is 4gb GDDR5 on the GPU and 8gb GDDR5 on the 8-Core IBM custom CPU

.* The GPU is the first GCN 2.0 GPU produced and was designed by special team of MS+IBM+AMD.

* Eric from IBM will be a speaker on the 21st. with more info like the fact the GPU specs. are a mindblogging 4.9 TFlops.

Also being rumored that there will be playable units on hand.

Tomorrow should be interesting.

Wrong. Only 8 gb ram, GDDR5 on PS4 blows DDR3 out of the water.

I didn't expect specific games, but I was expecting game interface, and game features (ala share button)

Not a home entertainment system. That is a huge letdown.

I did see a share button on the controller fwiw. I hope to see more about gaming during E3, I think they will focus more on that.
