New Xbox: Xbox Infinity

I think the price will be the final factor for most people. Unless they are the same. I am ready for more info from both systems at E3.

No backwards compatibility. A huge blow. So basically, games like GTA 5 that are coming out in the fall will be a waste unless you plan on keeping both systems. I mean surely GTA 5 is going to come out for the Xbox One at some point.

This generation of systems were not backwards compatible. I don't know why people thought these would be.

I don't see it being a "huge blow", it'll be forgotten in 6 months anyhow.

So, the features seem pretty cool, but I don't know how much all this integration appeals to me. I'm pretty comfortable using my computer for the internet, DirecTV box for watching live TV and playing games on my Xbox. It may well grow on me.

The COD preview was pretty cool, and even though you had to look hard, the 5 or so seconds of actual gameplay footage looked pretty damn impressive. I think what strikes me the most is that these graphics are just the jumping off point, and will get A LOT better from here. I remember the first time I played COD2, and being flabbergasted by how real the game looked and felt. Watching videos of it 8 years later, it feels hopelessly antiquated. Hard to believe how much more they've managed to squeeze out of the hardware over the years.

Backwards compatibility has never been a driving point for me. Usually, once I'm done with a game either by beating it or just tired of it, I don't go back to play it.

With the exception of Final Fantasy 7. I played through that like 10 times. Most recently a couple of years ago.

I'm fairly certain that the price point for both systems will be pretty much the same. Both are hitting the marketplace right around Xmas, and both want to come out on top of this release war.

The big thing is for the Xbox One to hit a home run with the new exclusives that they are going to release. For me, the only reason I got a PS3 was for the exclusives.

With all the money Microsoft has, they shouldn't charge people for the new system when they can play games online at Pogo for free.

it will also effectively ensure that when you are done with a game it will sit squarely on your shelve and you will get nada for it.

Why? A big fan of people losing jobs?

Companies like those are bad for the gaming industry. The developers who work their asses off on making the games don't receive any money from games that GameStop resell. They take trade ins and then resell them for 50% more. Thus, screwing over the customers and the companies that work hard to make these games.
