Vandy to Big Ten. Fits their academics.
Virginia Tech to SEC East. Solidifies SEC as best conference for eternity. Creates huge border state rivalry.
Don't care if it adds another tough game to the schedule, I want the fun and challenge of a team like Tech in the SEC.
Then again, Tech might end up like Vandy if thrown into the mix.
Va Tech would be a terrible add. Their program has peaked, and once Beamer is gone they'll be back to the mid-major type program they were before him. They bring absolutely nothing to the table.
If I were running things, I'd ditch Vanderbilt, and replace their spot in the east with Virginia. Virginia already brings in more money than Va Tech despite sucking for the past years. They've got better facilities, closer to VA recruits, and much more potential as a program. They've also got much better sports across the board than Va Tech. Virginia's new basketball arena is one of the nicest I've seen. And since they would be replacing Vandy, their big rival in the west would be Ole Miss, which would be ideal given the similarities of the two places. The only thing that's held Virginia back is an incompetent athletic director, that happens to hire incompetent coaches.
If not Virginia, West Virginia would be my second choice... Good football and basketball. Winningest football program in the country that does not have a national title. Huge fan base, and opens SEC up to northern markets. Lots of potential as a program.
Clemson would be third. They are the most SEC-like program in the ACC, and would be a good fit, and brings decent basketball as well. My guess is there's no way Georgia or South Carolina would let this happen though... unless politics get involved like they did in Virginia, when they forced the ACC to take Va Tech instead of Pitt or Syracuse like they wanted.
FSU would also be a possibility, but I don't see Florida allowing that to happen. I guess there are a lot of other programs out there that bring more to the table than Vandy does, but Virginia, West Virginia, Clemson and FSU would be my top four.
