New Pitching Coach Candidates

I know it's controversial, but I wanted him as the Pitching coach to begin with, and that's Curt Schilling. He lives in TN and actually was interested in the job if offered to begin with. He has the MLB experience to attract top prospects and the know how on what it takes to win. Forget his politics, he is a baseball guy.

He will never be the pitching coach here

Besides the point, a lot of the best players don’t translate to good coaches

He would not be able to work with E.

I agree on the players to coaches in the most part but Pitching is a little different than being a full blown head coach. He KNOWS Pitching and the mentality it takes. Someone will hire him and he will be very, very good at it.

Possibly, you know more about Elander personality than I would. I was just throwing a potential name out there that I feel like would succeed in coaching the Pitchers and Recruiting. But if he won't mesh well, then I understand. But this hire better be more than just someone who will get along with E or he may not have a job after next season.

I would be willing to bet no one will ever hire Curt Schilling to be their pitching coach

Matt Williams at Coastal Carolina would be a great candidate. 20 years of college baseball experience. Mentored 5 future MLB pitchers and has been successful at Liberty, SC, and UNCW prior to Coastal.

I'd definitely prefer an older veteran coach that has developed multiple MLB pitchers on his resume.

Do you think Elander would inquire with Frank for his opinion and recommendations?

Frank was one of the GOATs of college pitching coaches. Five first round draft picks over a six-year period is insane.
