I’m tired of the Heupel “hurry up” offense the novelty of it is over with and i think better teams have figured it out. I know the only way we get a new offense is when we get a new HC cause Heupel will never change. But man i miss the old pro style offense hell i wouid settle for the ground and pound that that Illinois runs.

You'd settle for a less productive offense because you miss running football? What? lol.

Hell...tonight we were huddling....playing slow....doing this look at me crap to the sidelines. We played very little hurry up. This offense Heupel runs isn't much, but if you take away the element of surprise with the hurry up it's really not much at all.

Awe now, OP. You sound like you wished Fulmer was back. Tell me you don’t want that play to lose and just hope for a late turnover to win the game.

What hurry up? Heupel has spent all season backing slowly away from it to where half the time it seems like he’s purposely slowing it down.
Probably not a real bad idea....With this sorry ass defense....if we were scoring fast at will we'd have to score 60. See what happened when we scored quick on a kickoff return? Yeah...that's what I mean. We'd have been better off going on a 5 minute ground and pound drive.

Only person I want to talk to is your English teacher. You should demand a refund.

this isn't the same offense we saw in 21/22. Huepel seems to have lost his fast ball. he was always running warp speed. we were always trying to score points. we had 20 seconds and three times before halftime last night and didn't try to do anything productive. in 21/22 he would've been going to points(and probably would've gotten them). last nights offense didn't even look like anything we had seen all year this year. i hope they just didn't care. never play these bowl games again. opt out and move on.

Our offense hasn’t been the problem

The reason they lost was 100% the defense. You should win a game scoring 28. This is one of the worst defenses I’ve ever seen.
The missed field goal and the fumble 6 were huge factors. But yes the defense was horrid.

Heupel has to find a true dual threat QB for his offense to be at its best. He sure isn’t going to out scheme anyone.

Knowing opposing team is going to score on most every drive is so deflating...knowing we've got a high scoring offense, but also that we're a one minute 3 and out drive away from seeing a 14 point swing.

I mean at least last year, generally, you knew if we could get to 21-28 points, we're winning the game, and can chew up the clock just running Sampson, even with a flawed Nico.

I'm not sure if I'd rather have a great offense with a horrible D or a great D w/ a horrible O.

JH generally is going to score points, so IMO, we need to see about 7-10 NIL signees on D.

Next year gauntlet season win total could very well be in the 5-6 range if JH isn't successful fixing the D

I think we will sign around 10

Best offense in the country statistically and he thinks that is the problem lol

Came to say the same. Just a few stats to show how "bad" his offense is:

  • Scoring Offense: Ranked #1 nationally (2022).
  • Total Offense: Ranked #1 nationally (2022, 2023).
  • Points Per Game: #1 nationally (2022).
  • Even in this disappointing year we have the 11th ranked total offense.
Needless to say offense is not our problem.

We were the best when we played the high school teams on our schedule. Putting up points, dancing on the sidelines. We play a team with a half way good defense, we get beat. Teams have figured out the vols offense. Look how many times we were sacked last night. Nobody open.
Our defense will get better, with the new defense coach. Offensive wise, we need to come up with a balance of run, and pass.

We need a real OC calling the plays and Heupel worrying about the coaching the game. He's too predictable.
They even talked about it last night saying IL staff knew what TN was running by the way their TE lined up.
The OL last night was horrible and got man handled. Last night we did so many substitutions that I'm surprised that IL didn't just jog one man off and on at a time burning the time clock making TN call or a TO or take a delay of game penalty.
