New night shift thread

Well hello fellers :hi: First time I have ventured into VN since Saturday. I see Doyle is ready to can Jancek. I have to disagree. We have got the slowest, pu$$iest and football stupidest bunch of defensive players I have ever had the misfortune of watching put on the orange and white. I refuse to blame the coaching staff until the stench of Derek Dumba$$ is purged from this team. There is no way in hell that the coaches have not drilled these pansy a$$es over and over and over and over what they are supposed to do, and where they are supposed to be. I am so sick of watching AJ and company play patty cake and graba$$ I can't take it anymore. For the love of everything good and orange in the world...HIT SOMBODY!

Nah...this defense would just be like Ike Clanton and run off with their tail between their legs....bunch of pu$$ies. Offensive line too...

I actually found out the other day that the O line is in the top five for least sacks allowed; only eight on the season. And of course Neal should hit his thousand in the next game (hopefully).

They are doing okay if they can get the false starts under control.

I can't believe I ever supported that fungus....I also can't believe that someone who has been around the SEC their whole life could not evaluate any better than this. I mean all we have to go on is HS film which is deceiving...but these CFB staffs work these guys out and watch them up close. You would think that somebody would have checked to see if they...you know...could actually tackle?...or maybe outrun a snail?

I know they are OK in Pass pro...but they just don't have that tough, nasty streak that great OLs have. They are soft.

C'mon El Grande...What he would do to me is irrelevant. :) These guys ...on the field...play soft.

To me, I think they were overrated at the beginning of the season. But they have held up pretty well in my opinion. Lots of false starts aren't helping, but they have been fairly effective in protecting the QB and the running game. Which is even more pronounced now that we've had two hurt in non-sack situations.

It's perspective I guess.

Still want to see the cage match between Tiny and Big Dan lol

I would think Brice Petty would be a steal for Tennessee at QB since chances are Manziel, Mariotta (if he declares), Bridgewater and Boyd will go higher in the draft.

Or maybe even Carr out of Fresno State or Aaron Murray if they wanted a pocket passer.

Unlimited options. Brice Petty would be as good as any option out there

No offense taken at all. We are all a little frustrated right now. There is a real football drought in Tennessee. For me, it gets difficult to continue surviving on faith alone year after year.

What gets me was they started out 3-1, and were a fluke play away from being 4-0, with great QB play, and a beast of a defense. Then they have an injury prone QB get hurt twice (last injury being season ending), with a loss to the worst NFL team I have ever laid eyes on. This franchise is a joke as long as any Jeff Fisher disciple is around. Clean house, and change the culture.

It is a good year for quarterbacks coming out.

There are 5 or more that could be the next best thing.

If the titans decide that they will roll the Dice, and bank on locker being a go next year without drafting a QB in the first round this year, it tells me all I need to know about the coaches, and front office. Jake has 3 years in the league, and has played 16 games. So he hasn't played two full years since he was drafted. He isn't good enough to pass on the deepest draft (QB wise) in recent memory.

I would honestly take Manziel (sp?)

Lotsa drama with that pick.

It's one thing to have an ego and back it up on the field (which he does). It's just annoying as hell. But once he gets slammed a few times by some pro linemen and backs, he'll learn to control that ego.

It certainly feels like the Titans are not committed to building a championship caliber team. It's a shame considering the fan support here in the football crazy south. Can you imagine if they put a product on the field like New England?

Any thoughts or opinions on Saturday's games? Ole Yaw Yaw is really exposing Kiffin for the snake oil salesman he is. SC should offer him the job permanently imo.

Most are what I predicted save a few. Duke was unexpected, especially the blowout they put on Miami. The Auburn game was, wow. About all I can say. Play for and make the breaks you know?

The UCS-Stanford game was interesting. I had a feeling they were going to be competitive, wasn't sure they would win. It seems the team is responding well to Coach O and does tend to make one wonder whether the team was sandbagging early in the season trying to get Kiffin fired. It's not too far from the imagination.

Vandy-Kentucky was the one I was mostly interested in. It appeared at times both teams were intentionally trying to lose. Kentucky is far worse than I could have imagined, just zero offensive production. Defense is doing okay, but certainly not anywhere near other teams including our own. But they played with a lot of heart and I don't envy Stoops at all. He's got a mountain to climb when it comes to that team.

Vandy on the other hand I think went into that game overlooking Kentucky and wasn't ready for them to play them hard. I don't think they are nearly as good as the talking heads make them out to be and I personally believe it's our game to lose. We're playing for the Bowl contention, so that should be in the minds of each and every player that hits that field on Saturday.

I feel like Butch and this staff really earn their money from here on out. It's going to be interesting to find out if there are any more players left not interested in playing in a crappy bowl.

At this point, a bowl is a bowl and 6-6 should get us one.

And I hate to say that since it is Tennessee. How far we've fallen. And how far we need to go.
