New night shift thread

OK here is the deal...I am going to need all my NS buds to sacrifice a bucket of KFC and some rum (I know that is a hard thing to ask) for the TB Rays this weekend. These boys have scrapped their arses off the last two weeks to make the playoffs, but the Red Sox have their number this year. It will take a minor miracle to get past them. :) I would ask a sacrifice for the Vols, but I don't think any of us could afford that much Bird and Booze. :)

I'll sacrifice half a holeman and Finch burger tonight at the Braves game for them and the Braves. I think both teams are going to need a small miracle.

I sacrificed a pig and a cow last night, does that count? Was part of a Pizza Hut pizza, but still had good thoughts when eating it.

But did it for the Vols. I'll honor the Rays today with a leftover slice

I dunno about my fellow night shift crew, but this game tonight has me upset as well as relieved.

Upset at the loss, especially under the pretenses it was lost. I'm not sure if Pig had the ball as he crossed the plane, looked like he did, but honestly, it could have gone either way and the way they favored Georgia, I'm not surprised at the call.

But relieved as we are looking in a lot better form than we were the past three years. This team of supposedly "no talent" and underclassmen took the #6 team down to the wire and beyond. They played with heart and never gave up. Past teams down 17-3 at the half would have given up, these guy did not quit!

So relieved that our team appears to be back on track and on the rise. Proud of those boys and what they accomplished today. This game right here was a turning point that showed them they can compete. And showed me the promise of things to come.

Agreed on all fronts. Going into the 4th, I thought we were going to win. Very disappointed that we couldn't get the stop in the 2 minute drill. Made a few killer mistakes late in the game, but ultimately still controlled the game despite that. Pig fumbled on a play that we see dozens of players make every week. Just a freak accident that he lost control.

On the positives: We played a complete game where we fought back from being down by 14 points at the half. The offense finally looked like it was clicking for the first time all season. Raijon, Pig, North, Croom, and Worley had very impressive showings. Defense was surprisingly good against a completely loaded (at least until we injured everybody) offense. Glad to finally have a coach that pays more than lip service to the Special Teams maxim. Smokey jerseys were nice. Biggest recruiting weekend of the year, and the stadium was the loudest it has been in nearly a decade. Recruits will definitely remember that as well as the performance put forth by a completely outmatched UT team. If we play like this against South Caroline, I think we beat them by 10.

Does this give you hope Doyle?....It does me. :good!:I don't know about that beating SC by 10 though Sam. It is evident after today that we can win, but these boys have to make that happen. If Bammer doesn't totally smash our heads in, I think they could get it done. I think a really bad mauling by the Tide could set the confidence level plummeting. A close well played game would have the opposite effect IMO. :hi:

We play the Koks the week before Bama this year.

Oh...ok. Did not know that. I was just going off the traditional order. I guess it was changed because of expansion maybe? Well that's good. If we play as well as we did yesterday we will have a decent chance to win. I am not going to jump off the Butch wagon if we don't.

Still waiting on EG and Doyle to make an appearance with their thoughts from yesterday...

Just goes to show how stupid a lot of the buttholes on VN are...Thanks for jumping in there and helping me out...not:) Jeez you could have least helped a VN brother out.

There's something to be said about the nobility, bravery and honor of rushing the machine gun nest or running into a burning building...

Says nothing of common sense :p

What is so stupid is there was nothing mean spirited, or controversial about that post. I just thought it would be an interesting topic. How in the hell did anybody take anything different from what I said? The dumba$$es in there just crucify, and criticize without even really reading what you say.

Sounds like I missed a golden moment. What happened?

That wasn't as ugly as i expected. Could've been much worse considering it was the football forum.

Ain't that the truth...I just about hate the idiots in that forum. I still don't understand how the retards took that to mean I was wanting that to happen. What a bunch of jagoffs. I mean jeez, there are cretins out there who will shoot/cut/smash you up over totally stupid crap like cutting in traffic. I am telling you it is only a matter of time till one of these highly questionable officials gets something bad done to them. I REALLY hope it isn't one of ours that does it. Can you imagine the crap the media would spew over something like that? If these guys are bent they need to be fired, and disgraced. Ritter and Mathews have done more than enough to show their bias, to anybody that is not just plain willingly blind, and not just to the Vols.

Grand, I'm becoming a fan of the way you brutalize LG in the politics forum. Pure gold!

I'm on my retirement leave so I have a little extra time on my hands :)

But in all honesty, I don't blame him for standing on principles. I just get tired of him vomiting out the party line all the time with nothing to back it up. And when called on it, he never replies. At least put up something truthful instead of the party line. Or he accuses me of being Clint Eastwood. Thought of myself more as a Tom Sizemore in Saving Private Ryan than a Clint myself.

That post was hilarious though.
