It got screwed up on Sunday. Now people are wanting to protest every name. Some fans are not going to give any coach a chance. Chad Morris is being treated like a rec league coach. He can coach. He heloed build Clemson and he took over a program that was awful and 2 years he has them in a bowl game. No he is not who everyone wanted when Jones was fired but he may be the best we can get now. I dont know if he can succeed at Tennesse or not but some fans want give him a chance if he is hired ans that is a shame.

Putting this kind of money can go two different ways.....either a couple big names come knocking on the door to rebuild a once prominent program......or a couple big name coaches use and abuse us like mullet did today. Sadly I’m scared it gonna be the used and abused route.

Oklahoma Lincoln Riley was the OC at oklahoma and in 2014 he was the OC at Eastern Carolina.
Auburn Gus Malzahn was the head coach at Arkansas State.
Wisconsin Paul Chryst ws the head coach at Pittsburgh.

We need to find the best fit for Tennessee. We also need someone that is going to be stay here.

I tell you what's a shame, is that we can afford to pay 8-10 mil and we are getting effing Chad Morris? Are you effing kidding me. If we can afford that much then why did they try and shove 3.5 million dollar man Schitano down our throats? We should not have to say huh I wonder who that guy is or try to justify a sorry a$$ record of an unknown if we can afford better.

You are right we should just throw the money at a coach and they will come. It worked out great tonight. This place is about to blow up. No coach is leaving a good job to come here right now.

That’s the price. We don’t know who can succeed, and none of these guys are guaranteed.

I can't understand why they just don't get Tee Martin. It makes too much sense. He's already an elite recruiter who knows the landscape of the S.E.C. The fan base and boosters could easily get behind him. He could grow into an elite HC, an oh by the way, he brought the school a National Championship!! I'm tired of this "let's get a big name coach b.s." !! There are no guarantees that a successful coach at one school will be successful at another ! It's a crap shoot !!

I agree 100%. I just don't think we are going to get a proven coach with the situation that we are in right now. Everyone we can get is going to be a gamble. Most have jumped on with Kiffen now. I think all Vol fans know that is a gamble. I hear Petersen. Don't believe he would come. Miles and Sumlin are gambles. Tee Martin is a huge gamble.

That's the whole problem here at this moment in time. There is no commitment to winning. The closest thing to a sure winner is Kiffin but everyone is too butt hurt to pull the trigger. I agree no big name coach is coming now so our choices are limited. We will just settle for some unknown and be f'd for another decade. If we are going to win, we have to go with Lane.

Oh I see that $hit coming now. And when they do, I'm gone. I quit watching the NFL over their dumba$$ $hit, I have no problem not going to games, spending money, or watching the Vols on T.V. As one poster said tonight it's not me quitting on them, they quit on me a long time ago.

Sanders had 5 years as a player at U.T. He is from nearby Morristown. He has been on the staff of 2 Natl. Ch. winners, UT and FSU. He coached for 24 years in the SEC, and now 5 in the ACC.

He has been an OC at 3 schools for a total of 14 years, 7 at UT, 3 at KY, and 4 at FSU. His teams averaged 27.6 pts at UT, 21.9 at KY, and 31.8 at FSU. It helps to have better players. Actually, a much stronger coaching resume than Tee Martin.

His overall pts per game is 27.6 in 176 games as OC. The strange thing is that he was OC at UT for 88 games and scored 2428 points. At Kentucky and FSU combined, he also was OC for the same number of 88 games, while scoring 2431 points.

U.T. 88 games scored 2428 pts

KY and FSU combined 88 games scored 2431 pts.

Total dumpster fire... the idiotic Grumors, Schiano....Haslam pulling the strings, Currie's incompetence, Kiffin trolling us only to have fans begging him to come here, offering the same coaches who already turned us down once or twice before only to shockingly get turned down again.

The only new names I'm interested in seeing is new candidates for AD and a new high level booster.

There you go getting your hopes up again just to be disappointed when Currie introduces Morris as the next head coach instead of Tee or Kiffin. Just stop and accept mediocrity cause with this administration and the sorry lame a$$ booster named Haslam running the show that’s all we are going to have. And when I say mediocrity I actually mean SUK embrace the SUK...... it’s sorry as hell we pay someone $900,000 a year to make a decision that is freaking common sense!!!!! Hire Tee or Kiffin, Tee has called and lobbied for the job and wellnif you believe social media and certain media reporters Lane is willing to accept it as well. Geez it’s not that freaking hard but our dumba$$ admin couldn’t manage themselves outta a cardboard box without Haslam hand up their a$$.....we need Al Wilson to come and clean house and show all these a$$hat clowns the door including Haslam and his tainted money!!!!
