I’ve believed for two weeks now that Currie has been working behind the scenes for probably 6-7 weeks now and that he would announce/introduce our new coach within 48 hours or so of losing our 8th game to Vandy.

I have no earthly idea who the coach will be, other than it won’t be Gruden, but I still think he announces on that same timeline. That just seems to be Currie’s M.O.

If we are to consider that a coach is hired tomorrow or Monday, and that coach is Schiano who is probably the least wanted by the fan base of the "realistic" choices and has an awful relationship with our token legend Peyton Manning. The boosters are going to put Tennessee in a bind to move on from Currie quickly given he would have rushed into such a disliked pick with so many big names still on the board. That is why he will be gone.

Once again though, I am optimistic that Schiano is not who is being brought in so the above hypothetical is mute.

From Big Ten country and Greg Schiano it is.... hearing it’ll be leaked around Saturday night/ Sunday... not sure on money but it’s done.... and Urban Meyer is the ONLY reason it hasn’t been leaked as he wants his team fully focused on Michigan... Currie met with Greg last Saturday while OSU was on the road against the Illini

Ohio State was not on the road. They were home in Columbus for the Illinois game.

The Fan Base and Boosters may not have been thrilled but they also weren't mentioned much in the lead up. Schiano is disliked already, this is totally different.
