Meyer is the only coach up there that puts TN back on the map next year. He put Utah on the map. He breathed life back into Florida with 2 nattys after the bone head hire of what’s his name. Took Osu to the next level. He’s a WINNER. But hey let’s hire our next experiment. Before that lets get least 4 active coaches a raise and settle for some unproven and have the sunshine pumpers call all of us realist “negavols” for wanting more. And when we hire the next chump hope he will all get us all fired up ready to run through a burning house cause he says stupid sh!t like aight and he likes cornbread! Holy hell were the Advil!!!

I mostly agree with what you say. I’d add that Meyer also wrote an article recently discussing how sad he was that Tennessee’s program had deteriorated in the way that it had. If that’s not a hint that he would possibly interested in the job, I don’t know what is. I do think that while Meyer would give us the best chance at making a quick turnaround, Bob Stoops would give a good shot as well. While he didn’t win as many Nattys as Meyer, he had Oklahoma in the hunt on an almost annual basis, and I’d happily take that right now.

Meyer will get a migraine and quit.

Get Les out of Kansas and have Tee serve as OC/coach in waiting.

If Meyer gets a migraine and quits after 4 season during which he has won the SEC a couple of times; won a NATTY; and loaded our roster with talent (i.e. approximately what he did at both UF and Ohio State); that would be fine with me!

I would prefer Les to our current staff.

You can’t build a program firing coaches every few years. Everyone thinking we should fire him in year 2 is being over emotional. Simple.

The more we fire coaches the longer the rebuild is going to take. I think deep down we all know this but we don’t want to accept it. Accept it.
😂😂😂. You think keeping a clearly crappy coach will be the way to speed up our rebuild. You think if we we give a clearly crappy coach enough time that he will magically get better😂😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂

The game has passed him by
Fulmer was successful in large part because he had a very good OC & DC
in those two at the time, & importantly, let them do their jobs, playing the part himself as a CEO. It could be argued that Fulmer leaned more to the CEO role & recruiter than a Leader, per se.
Pruitt is not demonstrating much of either at this point, though I give him a little more slack than many here, as he is new and has a new OC & DC among other changes.

Considering what we've seen so far on the football field, I find it remarkable that as of 7 AM central time Monday morning 61 people actually prefer Pruitt in a hypothetical arena.. JMO

Even more remarkable that 517 people prefer another option besides Pruitt.

Cutcliffe would be the perfect remedy.

Otherwise I’d go Harsin, Mendenhall, Richt in that realistic order. I’m pissed we missed out on Neal Brown.

Meyer is obviously the best coach on the board, but it's been 15 years since he left a school without embarrassing them on the way out.

Now that I think about it, I could probably live with that. The coaches we've had during that time have all embarrassed us while they're here.
Ohio St is clearly still reeling from that...

I don’t think the problem is coaching as much as it is the decisions by the Hamilton and previous ADs before Fulmer. I believe Kiffin, Dooley, and Butch were awful for UT each in their own way. Give Pruitt and Chaney 4 full years and then we can decide whether we want to start all over again. I watched the game again last night. Despite JG, stupid freshman penalties and mistakes, and playing #9 on their field, we played much better.

In a hypothetical world if you could pick your coach the fact that one person outside his family would pick Pruitt is quite remarkable, one may say I want to stick with Pruitt, I get that, however the poll is asking in a hypothetical world if you could choose your coach . Essentially we are in a vacuum and could pick who we want .

Kiffin is not the cause of our downfall. Going cheap on his replacement is the downfall. I think that had he had maturity and thought out his options instead of making a rash and emotional decision he would have us competing for championships now. I think he has matured now and sees his errors. This maturity and obvious coaching ability i think makes him the perfect candidate. I don't think any fan of TN would ever expect that we would not have a chance in any game with him coaching. He has that quality that gives you hope regardless the circumstances whereas today I see no hope less 3 years of top 5 recruiting.
He stated in an interview prior to the Pruitt hire he would take the TN job for 1 million or less. He said he feels partly responsible for the state if he program. Fulmer would never hire him.

Can somebody please make a sticky thread and then come up with anyone that has a pulse and is associated with football and restrict all posts from everyone who wants to replace any member of the coaching staff to that thread. This looks so much like the insanity that took place during the last coaching search. The Unlimited number of new threads will begin to eat away at valuable storage space for threads by people wanting to discuss the reality of another season in serious trouble. Most of these threads will be very much tilted toward the Nega side, but so be it.

Sounds kind of Fascist

Yea, 50 years ago

That offense almost beat Michigan on the road this year and Oklahoma on the road last year. Beat Houston in a bowl game 70-14. Just imagine if he were to get 4 and 5 star recruits to come to a major program instead of the 2 star recruits he gets to come to Army.
