I think UM has his eyes set on USC. He could quickly turn USC into a conference champ and national title contender. All the other coaches on the list aren't going anywhere. As crazy as it sounds, now that Kiffin has grown up (sort of), he might be a decent choice. I think we can all agree that he's a good coach and can get the most out of his players. UT and Kiffin are both at the bottom of the barrel right now and him returning as head coach would actually be an upgrade for both parties.
If UT fires Pruitt in the next year or two, it'll set the Vols' "rebuild" back another decade and give the program another black eye. No coach would want to come here knowing that they'd get fired after a couple of seasons if the fan base isn't happy with the direction of the team. It's best to ride this one out and let the program stabilize before making a change. Hopefully by then the program will be a little more appetizing for a top tier coach. Right now UT is a bat-sh!t crazy tramp that's been around the block a few times.
