Kevin Easterling has requested this picture be removed from this site. His son was reading the thread and has been reduced to a "blubbering idiot".

That is a perfect analogy. Given the details that we know, it seems like the "institutional control" button is a far reach right now. That is a term that is generally thrown around as a scare tactic.

Word.

If Bama avoided the Death Penalty with actions that were exponentially worse, then I do not think we have anything to worry about.

At the end of the day though, this may cost Willis, some schollies, and a bowl trip... AT THE ABSOLUTE WORST.

The part about Reaves, is what concerns me the most. (Assuming, that is true)

That would tie the staff to the situation. Which would be a problem.

Perhaps; if the girls traveled there on the University's dime. If not, there is not even a secondary violation to report, right?

Here is what the NCAA has to say on failure to monitor vs. lack of institutional control: http://tinyurl.com/yak3349 I don't see how anyone can read that and deduce that this is a lack of institutional control case.

All I could interpret were three case studies of schools that committed far worse violations than what ours could even turn out to be.

Nothing to see here, MOVING ON.

Thats the part that is fuzzy, to me.

I know it is a BIG deal, if UT footed the bill, in some shape or form. Or they were told to make the trip, by the staff, or ADept.

The girls making the trip, at best/worst, (according to some here) would be a secondary violation. Not sure if you added the "rumor" that Reaves was told (supposedly by the HS coach) after the fact, and UT did not report it. That is the "fuzzy" part.

Exactly. I think people are getting caught up in the all the hoopla and forgetting what exactly the by laws state. IMO this is a secondary violation at the VERY worst. The case studies are pretty clear as well.

i sure hope you're right and it's just a secondary violation if that

To answer an earlier question- If they are "fake" and they are, then they wouldn't "hang" to her belly button.........until she's 40 :D

The AJC article's comments are the icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned. It's really no wonder our country is going straight down the toilet with mentally challenged folk like that running around free.
